The couplets in Wu Xizai's seven words and deeds in Qing Dynasty "Planting pine trees is higher than houses, and Wen Daomei's flowers are as thin as poems" have a strong sense of monument. However, compared with calligraphers who later became popular with inscriptions, Wu Rangzhi's calligraphy is undoubtedly much more elegant. The most difficult thing is to combine the brushwork of the tablet with the characteristics of the circulation of the cursive script. If it is not well mixed, it will inevitably be like eating raw rice. Wu's couplet should be a good example of handling. The brushwork has both a square and vigorous brushwork and a variety of cursive strokes, which has the beauty of Gu Zhuo and abandons softness and sweetness.
