When I met Zhang Sheng, he had not grown into a famous calligrapher in China. We share an office. He is well dressed, elegant, steady and friendly. When I first saw his pen words, I was surprised by their vigorous lines and simple strokes. This is a master lurking among the people! When asked, I realized that he practiced calligraphy with his father since childhood, and later learned calligraphy and painting, laying a solid basic skill. He said with emotion that he has been on and off since he graduated for ten years.
? It was about the spring of 20 12, and one day he accidentally told me that he was regaining his old love. I blurted out: you can do it! This is not a compliment. I have my own observations. Zhang Sheng has a quiet temperament. He works quietly, intently and efficiently. He likes the meaning of "quiet and far-reaching" very much, and has collected a large number of calligraphy works for writing these four words, and named his children from the selected words. He is sharp-minded, methodical and consistent, and the items on his desk are clearly classified and always clean and tidy. He is kind and modest, but sometimes he is "car-scrapping". Once when it comes to disciplining children, he said that there is a ruler hanging on the wall at home. Without rules, there would be no Fiona Fang. Sometimes when I educate students with difficulties, I persuade them to get burned less. He ignored me and "went his own way", but fortunately, his classmates respected him in their hearts and never caused trouble like I thought. Personality makes fate, calmness makes wisdom, and you are good at making decisions in the face of opportunities, and you are brave in taking responsibility when problems arise. Zhang sheng belongs to the kind of person who completes the task for you when others are not paying attention! So I judge-a dark horse will fly out of the book world!
Since then, Zhang Sheng has made great progress in learning calligraphy, which proves my foresight. He learned from ancient disciples, studied hard, learned from others and found his own world. Privately, I attribute his ten-year growth to three stages: studying law, Wei and Jin Dynasties, imitating Tang people, and going back to Qin and Han Dynasties.
Zhang sheng's home is close to his work. Once I was invited to dinner at home, and I saw his study. A set bookcase takes up most of the space, and the felt is stained with ink, which feels like it has been used for a long time. What is striking is the spare large bundle of wool paper Xuan paper, and there is also a pile of finished paper under the case, which is several feet thick. There are a large stack of ancient law posts in the case, mainly in Wei and Jin Dynasties, including the notes of "Two Kings", Preface to Lanting, Preface to Saint Education, and Book Score. While we were talking, he spread out a piece of paper and began to write. I remember writing "two thanks" and "it's going to snow soon." He stood in front of the book with his feet apart, holding his breath with his left hand on the paper, seemingly natural and hiding tight softness. I have seen this state in people who play Tai Chi. The lower plate is stable, and you can exert your strength at any time when you relax. The right hand hangs down the wrist, the pen is steady, and the lines have a strong sense of rhythm, which won the charm of the original post.
He wandered in Wei and Jin Dynasties. I was studying Buddhist scriptures and asked him to help me write a volume of Heart Sutra. I hung the Heart Sutra on the dining table and often meditated, but I didn't mean to see some clues. At that time, he was very proficient in Wang Xizhi's brushwork, with clever angle of painting, exquisite pen collection and delicate pen control. Striving for progress in stability, the coexistence of strangeness and righteousness, and getting the essence of the holy teaching order. The rudiment of his calligraphy has appeared: first, it is sincere and quaint as a whole, which stems from his copying and reference to the classics of previous dynasties, and he is far-sighted and avoids vulgarity; The second is the constant pursuit of line quality. I once joked that all the lines of a cursive script had been pulled out. This kind of pulling is related to posture, so that brute force is not excessively pressed on the belly of the pen. During the pressure lifting process, before the adjustment, the movements are in place, the strokes are in place, and the whole body is concentrated on one inch of Mao Ying, which is both rigid and flexible, with curved edges and strong and elastic turning points. Wang Ti's ci is wonderful, and Su Shi has become his own spokesman. I guess Zhang Sheng tried a lot here. However, I thought that Zhang Sheng's brushwork was weak in the middle of this period, and there was less "frustration". Don't I know?
? Later, Zhang Sheng's attention turned to Yan Ti's running script, Huai Su, Zhang Xu, and he worked harder and harder. ? At eleven or twelve o'clock in the evening, he often sends friends to show his works. At this stage, with the combination of creation and creation, the strokes of his works are getting thicker and thicker, the words move silently, the rules are comfortable and harmonious, and there is no stimulation away from the rules. Looking through the circle of friends, I often think that this is a person who is catching up with the evening to light a cigarette and sigh; This is a swimmer showing his head and stroking his wet hair.
? When we meet, we still talk about daily life, tell some harmless jokes and play a joke on each other. Sometimes his eyes are bloodshot from lack of sleep, but his spirit is quite strong. I laughed at his white hair again. He pretended to be surprised and retorted that my hair was bald to the top. Hard work will eventually pay off. During this period, his contribution was frequently reported in newspapers, and his colleagues nicknamed him "an award-winning professional household". I urged him to invite me to dinner many times, but he kept a low profile, so he always invited me when he joined the China Book Association. To this day, we still have a rare tooth in our mouth! I want him to show off, but I can't. Hey hey. With successive awards, he burst into uncontrollable enthusiasm, spending money on training, watching exhibitions and running around the country. Sometimes when chatting, the topic involuntarily turns to his beloved calligraphy, and one of his colleagues calls him a "master". He showed a rare sad expression and said it was a curse. In recent years, the word "master" has been stigmatized by Jianghu behaviors. They attract people's attention and use juggling to make fools of themselves as calligraphy. In our eyes, Master Zhang advocates the elegance and integrity of the book style, follows the rules step by step, makes the past serve the present without being confused, and wastes 3,000 papers to find his ideal "muscle memory". In particular, the study of Yan Ti's running script makes his glyph expand, full of tension, and linearity adds a bit of vigor and vitality. The beauty and strength drawn from the "two kings" began to collide and merge with the grandeur and solemnity of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. I can't help cursing this guy. He can be self-disciplined and self-reliant. This master is not a "master". No wonder he is not satisfied with the word "master"!
? I don't remember when. Zhang talked about the extension of the style and the pen for seal cutting, traced back to the source and plunged into the pre-Qin and Han Dynasties. From then on, he began to learn seal script, write bronze inscriptions, and study bamboo slips and calligraphy in Qin and Han Dynasties ... Just in time for Gansu Calligraphy Association to set up Calligraphy Long Jun, he won the first prize of the fifth and third prizes in the sixth "Zhangzhi" Calligraphy Competition, and was nominated many times. Especially, two works entered the 12th national exhibition at the same time ... This was the opening rhythm. Since then, I have been devastated, and his influence has shifted from local to national. I looked at his lofty and vigorous works, and I just wanted to ask what is this word? I don't know him! He often buys some ancient books, studies calligraphy and culture, and pays more attention to extra-word kung fu. I gnashed my teeth with envy when he "showed off" some difficult words and explained the evolution of glyphs!
The above is Zhang Sheng in the eyes of a layman in calligraphy. As a colleague, I have witnessed his development for ten years. I may not be sure after reading it. Finally, I threw cold water on him-I sucked a few mouthfuls of ancient people's milk, and mixed it with the China Calligraphy Association, so I couldn't write my face. There are many unscrupulous calligraphers in small counties. Those who stare at the abyss are also stared at by the abyss, and those who benefit from the abyss will get tired of its disadvantages. I wish Zhang Sheng a family after constantly improving his mind!
