The author Sun Beard (? - 1774), named Beard Weng and named Yi'an, was a poor scholar in Kunming during the period of Kangxi and Qianlong. Although he was a famous poet, he was not limited to the world of art. He was always concerned about the sufferings of the people and called for rent reduction and tax exemption for them. He lived a poor life and had to rely on selling divination in his later years, and sometimes had to run out of food. However, he was resolute, optimistic, proud and unyielding. He liked to plant plum blossoms and called himself "Plum Blossoms on Ten Thousand Trees and One Commoner".
After the long couplet came out, it has been praised by people from all walks of life. Wu Yangxian, a native of the Qing Dynasty, spoke highly of Sun Beard's long couplets: "The sound of iron plates and copper harps are boring, and the bearded men are talented and talented. There are 180 crosses on the top of the building, and the yellow crane inscription has left an eternal name." Liang Zhangju, a couplet expert in the Daoguang period, said "The resort is so spectacular that it must be called a long couplet, but it only lasts for twenty or three times. However, there is a couplet on Guo Daguan Tower attached to the capital of Yunnan Province, which has more than 170 words and is praised throughout the country." It is pointed out that Sun Yan pioneered it. Xing's achievements also illustrate the extensive influence of Changlian in the country. To this day, there are still many people who use the art form of long couplets to write some better works.
