How to write a long essay

You all asked me how to write an article, and I perfunctory it. I feel that it is a silly thing to talk about how to write an article, which is suspected of pretending to be forced and disgusting. At the same time, if it is wrong, it will make people laugh, which is not very funny. However, it's sunny today, and I suddenly feel better, so I nagged a few words.

I think, I don't know what prose is. Even if I wrote it myself, some things can be called prose, which can be asked by us. There seems nothing wrong with calling it prose. It is very clumsy to define the genre of your own article, and it is easy to limit your thinking. At the same time, in my opinion, the world is so rich and colorful that there are no writing routines and teaching materials that are completely suitable for anyone. Otherwise, what we see are not all articles of the same style, how disgusting!

So, you can choose to write any kind of article. You can write carefully, you can write cheekily; You can pour out your words, and you can write with great care. You can write boldly or coarsely as a rock. Your article can be as light as catkins or as heavy as shocking the world. There is no formula in the article, and there is no formula in the style. For example, an excellent symphony can naturally shock people, but a gentle "Jasmine" can still be passed down from generation to generation; The impenetrable dragon's eighteen palms can kill people, and the erratic and sharp Xiao Li's flying knife can still kill people; Huge murals can make people breathless, and Qi Baishi's shrimp is also fascinating ... Understand this truth, you will not use any standards to ask others, let alone restrain yourself. The key is to decide whether you like composing symphonies or singing ditties best. Are you suitable for practicing the eighteen palms of the dragon, or are you suitable for practicing Xiao Li's flying knife?

This leads to another truth: art is fascinating not because of the mean, but because of extremes. Look at the masters in the world. Without exception, their works reach a certain extreme in one respect-Hemingway's simplicity, Poe's horror, Borges' obscurity, Shakespeare's magnificence ... If they are paranoid to the extreme, it doesn't matter. Most other people in the history of literature are paranoid. Think about it, why do we like watching movies and TV? It is a dramatic thing, which dramatizes the ordinary life plot, and dramatization itself is the ultimate treatment of life; Why can you always see marginal people, such as lunatics, in literary works? Because those people can amplify some of our inner desires.

Our life is not as beautiful as we thought. What we see may often disappoint us. Actually, it's not like this. For example, did you think of a strange thing one night? Do you have some strange impulse in a certain atmosphere? Did you accidentally see your desire and get a fright? That's the truth. When a person writes an article, he must first dare to face himself-whether his thoughts at that moment are lofty or humble, passionate or indifferent, pure or dirty-you must think of yourself first. If you can't even face yourself, how can you expect yourself to really face the world? If you can't impress yourself with your own articles, how can you expect to impress others?

Don't write articles like the ancients. In the history of China literature, prose in the true sense does not exist, which is all caused by the phrase "writing carries Tao"; Don't follow the old guys to write articles, look at the essays in our middle school textbooks and buy a monthly essay-those gentle colors, those words that smell like coffins, and those self-righteous detached gestures seem to be carved in the same mold. It is enough for them to do these things; There are enough people who write this on the back of their asses. We don't have to write like this. We don't mind those stupid comments. Let's write what we want to write first

If you want to write what you want to write, you must first realize that writing is a happy thing. Some people write a sad face and a dignified expression, which is really funny. For an indecent example, in my opinion, that writing is more like constipation. Although persistent, it is difficult and painful, and others feel uncomfortable. Writing happily is more like diarrhea. If you don't have diarrhea, you will feel uncomfortable. So, once you start writing, don't think about themes, ideas, sentence changes or words-once you do, it's not what you want. When your article is finished, the theme of your article will naturally be there; You write fluently, and your most inclined sentence pattern naturally comes into being. You type a word inexplicably, and you are close to your most eager expression-just when you go to buy clothes, you take out one from a row of clothes without thinking, well, that's it, there is no reason. Interestingly, I never have the idea of writing an article, but some people think that I am looking for trouble on purpose, which illustrates a problem. Don't try to please everyone with articles.

Of course, maybe you will be disappointed with what you wrote at first. It doesn't matter, you work hard, and one day, you will find everything that belongs to your own article-the transformation of style, way and logic. By the way, nothing is more critical to an article than language logic. This is the most essential difference between different articles, and it is also your most unique and unrepeatable place, just like the way you walk and the tone of your voice, just like your fingerprints. Never let others influence your language logic. Many people's articles failed, but no one read them. The most important reason is that they don't have their own language logic, and they are all repeating other people's things, so that I can guess what he will write next after reading the last sentence, which is boring and worthless. )

Finally, I want to give an example. When Liu Xianggang joined the track and field team, his grades were very poor. His hurdle was a little bent and paused, but the coach found his unique advantages-deep arch and good bounce. The big toe is much longer than others, which is conducive to the concentration of strength; More importantly, he has a good sense of rhythm in running. These are his personal advantages. Hurdling skills can't be learned; The ligament is not loose. You can pull it. As a result, a few years later, it turned out that the coach's idea at that time was correct. On the other hand, if a stupid coach doesn't realize this, he just thinks that Liu Xiang is tall and has long legs, and lets him practice long-distance running, then it's really over.

Just chatting, not talking about technical matters. But I think I'm still a good coach. Gifted friends, might as well practice, dare not say what kind of person they can become-that's too vain-at least, it's easy to support themselves happily with words, and it won't increase the burden on society.

On how to write prose

Author: Bao Hua

Yu He:

I caught a cold these days and wrote nothing but reading. Because I live in Beijing, I don't have many books to read. The day before yesterday, I bought some thin "Selected Works of China Loose-leaf" in the second-hand bookstall. There are masterpieces by Sima Qian, Ouyang Xiu and Gui Youguang in the book, which is exactly what I want to read. So, when you have a cold, you lie in bed and read ancient Chinese.

In addition to ancient prose, I also read the works of contemporary writer Sun Li, and read them again and again.

It seems that the feeling is nothing more than what I told you when I was at home: write essays, be reasonable, make things clear and thorough as the first meaning, and don't be stereotyped or elegant and romantic. On this basis, a sentence should be used as a sentence to make every word useful. Don't put on airs by adding flashy words, which will only lead to complications. In this way, the article is naturally beautiful, full-text, concise and fresh. Do all this, and then pursue the change of sentence pattern, rhythm and phonology.

A writer should show others by events and write deeds. You should let the people you write speak for themselves, and write less or try not to write your own comments and feelings. His deeds should take daily trivia as the theme, bring readers closer to the people he wrote, and let readers appreciate his deeds carefully, so as to vividly show his people and make them unforgettable. When writing something, first straighten out all kinds of relationships in things and figure out where to start, so as to save pen and ink and make it clear to readers at a glance. Don't write a reasonable article first, because it requires the writer to stick to one thought, reason one line at a time, peel off one layer at a time, show the truth to the reader and exercise his mind and words like an old monk. If you say that there are so many articles about philosophy in the literary world now, do those authors have that kind of kung fu? In my opinion, it is because they have pens and computers in their hands and dare to write, which has nothing to do with the kung fu of composition.

When writing an article, avoid "I". But without your own feelings and thoughts, there is no text, so we should pay attention to the balance between subjective and objective. At first, I also liked to make these mistakes. I express my feelings before writing about people and things, and then use exaggerated words to render them. Finally, I tried to improve my style with my own subjective comments. I feel ashamed to read these articles now. How to avoid this style of writing now? Teach you a little trick: after writing an article, revise it more. Revising an article is a pleasure, not a pain. In revision, find adjectives, find one, and delete one. There are more adjectives, more things to describe "I" and more places for hands. Adjectives can be used, so don't use them. For example, some words "extremely" and "most" are seldom used. After a long time, when you write an article again, you will naturally grasp yourself, stop using emotional descriptions, and find specific examples to illustrate what you want to explain. I teach you to do this because it is too specific, a bit like Buddhism's "dharma", because "dharma" gives birth to "wisdom" and you will soon realize the way of writing.

When people talk about things, it's time to stop talking. There are some transitional words in the narrative that can be said less. It seems that the transition between the upper paragraph and the lower paragraph can be turned and turned hard, just like the meaning of "broken pen" in calligraphy. The overall layout can refer to a sentence in seal cutting: airtight (word length) sparse (word short). Don't come clean about what you know because of your vanity (that is, the "I" mentioned above), or show your knowledge by deliberately quoting classics by digressing. Such a result not only can't be made clear, but won the respect of readers, but will make people feel annoying after reading it.

Let's talk about reading. My experience is to pay attention to China's ancient and modern masterpieces. Of course, you should also look at foreign languages, but if you are not skilled enough, you will often learn the translator's language by mistake first. When reading foreign works, we should learn from their perspective and the internal structure of sentences. In this respect, we can read more works by Borges and others. To treat China's masterpieces, we should mainly read them by heart, and some of them have to be memorized, such as Wu Yun's A Letter with Zhu, Ouyang Xiu's Zuiweng Pavilion and Gui Youguang's Xuanzhi of Ji Xiang. Longer ones, such as Bao Ren An Shu, Ai Jiangnan Fu and Preface to Wang Tengting, should be read frequently. China's essays on modern prose, I recommend some articles by Lu Xun (mid-term works), Ye Shengtao, Xia Mianzun, Zhou Zuoren (mid-term works), Sun Li (comparative reading before and after) and Wang Zengqi. When reading, don't analyze the "central idea" in their articles as the school teaches. Don't think too much, just watch it again and again. As for other works by contemporary famous artists, don't read them. If you really want to read it, wait until your kung fu is almost the same and your appreciation ability is strong, so read it as a negative textbook.

In order to polish the words more exquisitely, we should read more poems and write more poems. You have worked hard on poetry, so I won't talk about it.

There are still some words, but it's no use saying them now. After a while, when you have the work, let's say it as it is.
