Tao Shoubo (1902- 1997) was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu. I am sincere and eager to learn since I was a child. /kloc-when he was 0/5 years old, he studied calligraphy, seal cutting and inscriptions with Suzhou famous teacher Tang. At the age of 23, he studied Shuowen, and Shen Enfu studied Confucius and Mencius. At the age of 25, he switched to Zhao Shuru, the master of Yilin, and went straight to Zhao Jiahui Hall. Later, I worshipped Zhang Daqian as my teacher. He is good at painting, calligraphy and seal cutting, also known as the "three musts". Mei Hua is called a master. Yu Youren commented that it was "the first to carve and push the giant hand in the sea, and the first to draw plum blossoms".
1950, Tao Shoubo went to Taiwan Province via Hongkong, and sang with famous cross-sea artists such as Yu Youren, Zhang Daqian, Xinyu Pu and Huang Junbi. He devoted himself to art all his life, managed to print more than 10,000 paintings and held more than 50 calligraphy and painting exhibitions overseas. He spared no effort to carry forward and spread the traditional culture of China and made outstanding contributions.
Tao Shoubo's Early Experience
He was born in poverty and had little education when he was a child. Today we appreciate his calligraphy and painting seals, calligraphy and painting inscriptions and margins. As far as words are concerned, they are all words, which are very literary, especially the poems on the paintings are fresh and meaningful, full of affection. In his later years, Mr. Tao regretted that he had not received higher education and thought that his early fate was as hard as Qi Baishi's.
