A Brief Introduction to the Author of Pan Tianshou's cursive Axis

Pan Tianshou (1898- 197 1), formerly known as Tian Shou, whose real name was freshman, was nicknamed A Shou and Lei Tou, who lived to the peak, and was a famous painter and art educator in China. A native of Ninghai, Zhejiang Province, graduated from Zhejiang No.1 Normal University, and studied under Li Shutong, Wu Changshuo and other famous painters and painters. Calligraphy draws on the strengths of many schools, and has been deeply studied in Zhong Ding, Shigu, Ergui, Huang Daozhou and Ni in Ming Dynasty, and Shen and Wu Changshuo in modern times, so it has its own unique, steep and simple style. He has served as a professor at Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, West Lake Art Institute, Southeast United University and the president of National Art Institute. After the founding of New China, he served as the president of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, the vice chairman of China Artists Association, the chairman of Zhejiang Branch of China Artists Association, the vice chairman of Zhejiang Branch of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the representative of the first, second and third National People's Congress. His works include China's Calligraphy History, China's Painting History, Listening to Tian Ge's Painting Essays, and Pan Tianshou's Calligraphy and Painting Collection. He was persecuted to death during the Cultural Revolution.
