"Xishan Monument" is a cliff stone carving, with a total height of 1m, a width of 2.6m, * * * 2 1 line, 173 characters and a diameter of 10cm, which is the longest and largest number of words in the existing inscriptions of Huang Tingjian in Bashu. This monument is one of the three masterpieces of Huang Tingjian in his later years, and it is on a par with the Ci and Song Fengge written by Huang after he left Sichuan. The brushwork of Tongbei seal script is astringent in the center, so it is vigorous and dignified, showing thin strength, and the fonts are mostly slender, sinking left and right, stubbornly sinking, and sometimes refreshing, which does not hide the handsome color. Between words, sometimes it is like a rocky stream, embedded in the upper position, dense, and sometimes vertical, with a lively rhythm and clear distinction. A line of words, like a river Youlong, swings and ripples, end to end, like nature itself. The calligraphy of this tablet can make people feel the shock of Chuanjiang boatman's heroic spirit. In the seventh year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1857), when Feng Zhuohuai was the magistrate of Wanxian county in Changsha, he presented this tablet to his teacher Zeng Guofan, who once rated it as "the best yellow book in the world".
