Vice Chairman of Beijing Calligraphers Association Zhang Youqing (picture)
Zhang Youqing is male, Han nationality, born in Beijing in January 1941. Graduated from Beijing Normal University majoring in calligraphy. Consultant of the Calligraphy Art Research Association of China Culture and Art Development Promotion Association
Served as director of the 4th Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the evaluation committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, professor of the Training Center of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Beijing Calligraphers Association Vice Chairman. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, executive director of the Beijing Calligraphers Association and director of the exhibition department. He once studied under the master of painting, Mr. Yu Fei'an. Later he studied calligraphy, and was good at official script and Wei stele, and was good at bamboo slips.
His calligraphy and lettering works have participated in international and national book fairs and lettering art exhibitions for many times. He has visited Japan, South Korea and the United States many times and held joint calligraphy exhibitions and lectures; his works were selected for the third and fourth national conferences. Calligraphy and seal cutting exhibition, World Peace Year Calligraphy Exhibition, the Second China-Singapore Calligraphy Joint Exhibition, the Second China-Japan Friendship Calligraphy Exhibition, Beijing International Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition and international calligraphy exhibitions held in Tokyo, Seoul and other places. In 1989, he was invited to visit Japan.
He once served as a judge of the Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Engraving TV Calligraphy Competition, deputy secretary-general of the Organizing Committee of the International Cultural Exchange "Sackler Cup" Chinese Calligraphy Competition, and a member of the review committee. Published three volumes of personal collection.
