The charm of Yangcun Town Yangcun

Yangcun Town is the central town in the south of Longnan County. It has unique folk culture, typical Hakka houses and little-known folk stories. With a population of nearly 50,000, it was once the largest township in Longnan.

Before liberation, this was a place where bandits and robbers robbed. Because vicious cases often occurred here, and people expected to live a good life, it was named Taiping from the Ming Dynasty, and its administrative setting was Taiping Fort. In Yangcun, every household in ancient times had an extremely sharp "ban knife", which was used for personal protection and hunting. When educating children, adults usually say: Are you afraid of your father's sword? I mean, don't be like this. Are you afraid of Abba's sword? Ban Dao has become the mantra of Yangcun people.

Speaking of the remoteness and isolation of Yangcun in the past, a joke circulated by the Hakka people can be used to prove it. When the People's Congress was just liberated, the county seat held a National People's Congress. Representatives from Yangcun went to Longnan County for the first time. They walked out of the mountains and caves ten miles away and saw a sugarcane forest. They expressed their first emotion: A big place is a big place. The big caves are filled with awns (thatched grass). ). When we arrived at the People's Auditorium, thousands of people ate, and there was tofu cake for breakfast. Representative Yangcun expressed his second emotion: A big place is a big place, and the eggs are steamed in a vat. It was my first time to eat sugar buns. The hot sugar buns were big and white. When I took a bite, sugar water flowed out. I raised my hand to lick the sugar with my mouth. The more I licked the sugar buns, the more they licked. The higher I raised my hand, the higher I got. As a result, I was burned by the hot sugar water. The back.

“Let’s say hello and hug (blow) the wind. My brother is traveling into the mountains. There is nothing to entertain here (my house). A bowl of warm rice wine...” Yang Cun’s clear and loud voice "Guoshanliu" has the most mountainous style. It is the most unique among all Hakka folk songs. In March 1956, at the Second Folk Art Observation Conference held in Nanchang, two actors from Yangcun won the Best Performance Award for singing "Guo Shan Liu". Later, it became a reserve in counties, cities and various performance activities. program and won many awards.

The "hill slide" introduces guests into the Hakka enclosed house. There are dozens of large and small enclosed houses in Yangcun, the most representative ones are Yanyiwei (also known as Gaoshuiwei) and Wushiwei. Yanyiwei is 100 meters southeast of Yangcunwei. It was built in the first year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662). It is square in shape with four turrets built in the four corners. Each side of the wall is 50 meters long and 23 meters high. It is made of granite and the joints are filled with tung oil and glutinous rice pounded with lime. It is solid and reliable. There are four floors surrounding the house. There is a circle of wooden "jumping towers" on each floor, commonly known as "Zou Ma Tower", with a well in the middle. The fence can be fireproof or waterproof. The enclosed house is a special residence used by the Hakka people in ancient times to resist foreign invasion. It has been designated as a "world famous residence" by the international residential academic community. There are more than 400 large and small rooms in the enclosed house, which can accommodate five to six hundred people.

When you walk into Yangcun Hakka as a guest, you will be greeted by the strong aroma of Yangcun rice wine from afar. After Yangcun rice wine is steamed, brewed and filtered, there is a special procedure. Each jar of wine must be baked with grain chaff, which Hakka calls "zhajiu" (baking the wine jar with a fire). Hakka people in Yangcun eat at a table of eight people, called the "Eight Immortals Table", which is divided into "horizontal tables and vertical stools" according to the texture of the wood. People in Yangcun call eggs "spring", and you must eat "spring" when you are a guest. After the guests are seated, each person is first served a bowl of rice wine "Chun", or a "Tao Chun" per person, and then 8 dishes are served according to the procedure of "top four, bottom five", and if it is more grand, 4 large plates are added, up to 24 plates. This custom has been continued to this day and has become a popular and festive fixed menu for the Hakka people. Today’s Yangcun people are all gourmets. In Longnan County, almost all famous restaurants are opened by Yangcun people. They use Yangcun Hakka's unique processing methods to attract diners from all over the world and become the representative of Longnan Hakka cuisine.

After arriving in Yangcun, I have seen Hakka enclosed houses, been a Hakka guest, and heard about "crossing the mountain", there is one place that I must visit, and that is Taiping Bridge.

Yangcun Taiping Bridge looks like a corridor, a bridge, a pavilion and a sedan chair, with a large arch on the bridge and small arches on both sides. On the top of the arch circle, there are three pairs of cornices like a pavilion, and the rugged corners raise the sky to the sky. The pavilions are all made of blue bricks. Covered with green tiles. The entire stone bridge is like a rainbow, majestic and spectacular.

According to legend, in the spring of the 13th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty, Wang Shouren (Wang Yangming), censor of Zuodu of the Imperial Procuratorate and governor of Southern Jiangxi, led his troops into Longnan Taiping Fort to suppress the Taiping peasant uprising, and then suppressed the Sanli peasant uprising in Guangdong. . When he returned to Ganzhou, Wang Shouren built the Taiping Bridge at Shuikouling in Taipingbao to show peace in the world. After the bridge was completed, a huge strange stone suddenly appeared more than ten meters downstream of the bridge, resembling a lying female buffalo. At night, the female buffalo goes to Lianping Prefecture, Guangdong Province to forage for grains and wheat.

During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, a Feng Shui master said: "If the sacred cow is under the bridge, it will climb to other places. If the sacred cow is on the bridge, it will be peaceful and prosperous." The villagers followed the Feng Shui master's instructions and rebuilt a new bridge 100 meters downstream of the original bridge. Taiping Bridge is now Taiping Bridge, and the original bridge was demolished; a pair of bulls was carved and placed at the gate of Chetian Village. After the bridge was completed, Lai Maojie, the superintendent of the bridge construction and the patriarch, wrote the three characters "Taiping Bridge" on the forehead of the north direction of the Sitong Pavilion. It is vigorous and powerful and can be called a calligraphy treasure.

"As soon as the sun rises in Huang Xi'an, my sister from Yangcun is waiting for you. If I have my heart, I will break the platform with twenty-four bowls. As soon as the sun rises in Huang Xi'an, I will travel too much. It’s wonderful, there are many Hakka stories in Yangcun, there are things to eat, see, and my sister…” After hearing that Yangcun is “walking through the mountains”, you might as well go to Yangcun for a walk. Yangcun is a scenic spot. In the spring of the 13th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty, the imperial censor Zuo Qiandu of the Imperial Procuratorate and Wang Shouren, the governor of Southern Gansu Province, led officers and soldiers into Longnan Taiping Fort to suppress the Taiping peasant uprising and then the Sanli peasant uprising in Guangdong. After returning to Ganzhou Prefecture, Wang Shouren built the Taiping Bridge at Shuikouling in Taipingbao to show peace in the world. What Taiping Bridge brought to the people of Longnan was not only a peaceful life after a long period of chaos, but also the beginning of a spiritual enlightenment. With the efforts of Wang Yangming and his disciples, “citizens also knew that wearing uniforms, singing day and night, and reaching In Weixiang, courtesy has gradually become a custom."
