Song Lizong was a scholar in the first year of Chunyou, and he resumed his studies in Baoyou for four years. Through Guantaichang Temple, he was sentenced to Taizhou, called as the secret supervisor and the right to write books, and knew the history of Huizhou and Ritual Department. He is honest and outspoken, and has repeatedly offended Daquan Ding and Jia Sidao, the powerful ministers, and was dismissed. Later, he resigned and returned to his hometown to concentrate on writing for twenty years.
Wang Yinglin, Hu Sansheng and Huang Zhen are also called "the three outstanding figures of East Zhejiang School in Song, Yuan and Zhejiang".
