Three collections of Yang Jianchen's calligraphy works appeared.

In the winter of 2000, Yi Kai Publishing House published the first calligraphy collection in China Contemporary Powerful Painters Series. At that time, Mr. Cheng Shifa wrote the cover for him; At the age of 92, Mr Qian Jun wrote an inscription for the title page. At that time, Yang Jianchen was only 38. Yang Jianchen's cursive script, official script, official script and seal script are included in the book. There are not only banners, but also couplets, hand scrolls and letters, fans, and even bamboo carving and printing. This really shows the versatility of young Yang Jianchen as an up-and-coming calligrapher, and left a deep impression on him.

The second calligraphy collection was published in 2006. His teacher, Mr. Xu Boqing, wrote the cover. "One hundred Tang Poems in Yang Jianchen cursive script" are all cursive scripts. After a lapse of six years, comparing his previous collection of cursive works, we can feel Yang Jianchen's persistence and constant pursuit on the artistic road, and we can also see his progress and changes in brushwork. The lines in Yang Jianchen's cursive script are sometimes dignified and vigorous, sometimes quiet and dry, graceful as silkworms spin silk and flying like thunder, showing the original and unrestrained beauty of cursive script art.

Compared with the first two books, the third book collection, Yang Jianchen Model Collection, has more distinctive shapes. Except for eight decorative books, this calligraphy collection is all fan calligraphy. Including a large number of folding fan calligraphy and a small number of round fan calligraphy.

Fans are the most common and practical things in people's lives. It has existed since ancient times. Even today, most people still throw away the practical norm in life and don't take it seriously. But since the combination of fans and calligraphy and painting art, the value of fans is extraordinary.

When I was very young, I heard from my mother that an old lady selling fans in ancient Shaoxing met a great calligrapher (I didn't know Wang Xizhi's name at that time) and asked him to buy some fans. Just because the calligrapher had no money, he wrote a few lines on her fan. The old lady was a little unhappy when she saw that the man not only didn't buy her a fan, but also scribbled on it. The calligrapher told her that as long as you tell people that it was written by wang xing Youjun, it will be sold. The old lady did as he said, and sure enough, people came to buy her fans. This is probably the earliest enlightenment about fan art that I received in my childhood.

It can be seen that as early as the era of Wang Xizhi in Jin Dynasty, fan calligraphy was valued and cherished by people. Today, fan calligraphy has become a favorite and playful work of art.

Yang Jianchen's calligraphy, with a variety of calligraphy styles he is good at, is concentrated in the relatively narrow world of Fan, full of exquisite and elegant artistic beauty, showing the characteristics of seeing the big from the small. Looking at it one by one, I feel that Yang Jianchen wrote well on a small fan and handled it properly, especially the arc of the folding fan, which is clumsy, graceful, elegant and exquisite. Anyone who has studied books knows that it is not easy to do this.

In sector calligraphy, we can also see that Yang Jianchen's calligraphy strives for progress and breakthrough in seeking change and innovation. That is, he is giving up the traditional pen-centered method for many years and creating cursive script with a winged hand. In fact, the dispute between center and winger has existed since ancient times. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Chen Hongshou and Chen Laolian clearly pointed out in their Collection of Baoluntang: "What can scholars learn from the ancients when arguing over words?" When you use all kinds of laws and regulations, you are self-sufficient. "

I agree with this assertion. I'm waiting for the ancients. Who did the ancients learn from? It seems that a calligrapher with real pursuit and courage must innovate and change on the basis of learning from the ancients and form his own unique style.
