Examination subjects

Assessment subjects will be opened this year: calligraphy, hard-pen calligraphy, seal cutting, sketching, color (gouache, watercolor, oil painting), and traditional Chinese painting (landscape, flowers and birds, figures) are all level 1-10; (Children's painting will continue to be trialled within the scope of pilot units ).

Eligibility

Anyone who loves calligraphy and art and has a certain foundation (no restrictions on age, region, occupation, and education level) can apply.

Application level requirements

For infants or primary school students who apply for various subjects for the first time, the maximum application level is Level 3. If you apply for Level 4 or above, you can only apply for the exam level by level on the basis of the original level, and you cannot apply for a higher level.

Middle school students and above, as well as middle-aged and elderly candidates, apply for various subjects for the first time, with a maximum of Level 5. Those applying for Level 6 or above can only apply level by level on the basis of the original level, and cannot apply beyond the level.

The maximum first-time application for students, graduates, or professional art and calligraphy workers with secondary majors in art is Level 7. Those who apply for level 8 or above can only apply level by level on the basis of the original level, and cannot apply beyond the level.

Introduction to the National Calligraphy and Painting (Amateur) Grade Assessment

In order to further popularize and promote amateur art and calligraphy education and improve the artistic quality of the whole people, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles approved the Art Steering Committee of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles in August 1998 Taking the lead in establishing the National Calligraphy and Painting (Amateur) Grade Assessment Committee, chaired by Gao Yunjia, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and based on the experience of the Amateur Music Grade Examination and some provincial and municipal amateur art grade examinations, pilot work on the Painting and Calligraphy (Amateur) Grade Assessment was carried out in some cities across the country .

The national calligraphy and painting (amateur) level assessment projects include sketching, color, Chinese painting, calligraphy and children's painting, which are divided into levels 1 to 10 or level 5 respectively. The examination is held once a year. Amateur calligraphy and painting enthusiasts can voluntarily choose the appropriate category and level to sign up according to their own level. The examination works will be graded by experts organized by the National Calligraphy and Painting Assessment Committee according to the grading standards, and the National Calligraphy and Painting Grade Assessment Committee will issue corresponding grade certificates.
