Ma Yuzao graduated from Waseda University and Imperial University of Tokyo. During my stay in Japan, I studied phonology with Mr. Zhang Taiyan. After returning to China, he was a professor and head of the Department of China Studies in Peking University, and a tutor of Chinese studies in the Institute. Together with Lu Xun, Xu Shoushang, Zhu Xizu and others, he put forward the suggestion of using the phonetic symbols of Chinese characters as phonetic symbols. This scheme was promulgated and implemented by Beiyang government in 19 18, which became the first Chinese phonetic notation scheme in China and made great contributions to the pronunciation of Chinese characters and the spread of Putonghua.
Ma Heng, a graduate of Nanyang College, was a lecturer in the Chinese Department of Peking University College of Literature, a professor in the history department, a tutor in the Chinese Studies Department of the Research Institute, director of the Archaeological Research Office, director of the Peking University Library and director of the Palace Museum. He mainly devoted himself to the study of epigraphy, inherited the tradition of textual research of Ganjia School, absorbed the advantages of modern archaeology, and paid attention to the field investigation of cultural relics excavation. He is one of the pioneers and founders of modern archaeology in China.
Shen Shiyuan (188 1- 1955) is a famous scholar and an expert on Zhuangzi. 188 1 was born in Hanyin County, Shaanxi Province. He used to be Professor B of Peking University Preparatory College, Director of General Affairs Department, Member of School Affairs Committee, and Professor yenching university of Beijing Normal University. During the May 4th Movement, he served as secretary of the Federation of Teachers and Workers in Beijing secondary and above schools. Later, he served as Secretary-General of Zhejiang Provincial Government, Member of Zhejiang Provincial Government and Director of Education Department, Director of Education Department of Hubei Province, and Deputy Director of Examination and Selection Committee of the Republic of China Examination Institute. After the founding of New China, he served as the president of the Palace Museum.
Shen (1883- 197 1), formerly known as Tyumen. Famous scholar, poet, calligrapher and educator. 1883 June 1 1 was born in Hanyin County, Shaanxi Province. 1905, studying in Japan. 19 13 Up to now, he has served as a professor of literature department in China, Peking University, director of China Literature Research Institute, director of Hebei Education Department and president of Beiping University. After the founding of New China, he served as deputy director of the Central Museum of Literature and History, director of the Shanghai Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Committee, and vice chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles. During the May 4th Movement, as one of the editors of New Youth, he created new poems, and the old-style poems were also quite skillful. Calligraphy is good at using pens, and it is expounded by brushwork and gestures. He is recognized as a generation of calligraphers at home and abroad, and the first calligrapher in modern China. He is the author of Notes on the Calligraphy Experience of Famous Artists in Past Dynasties, and My View on the Calligraphy of Two Kings.
Shen Jianshi (1887- 1947) is a linguist and archivist in China. 1887 July 3 1 was born in Hanyin County, Shaanxi Province. 1905, he and his brother Shen went to Japan at their own expense to study under Zhang Taiyan. Later, he served as a professor in Peking University, Tsinghua University and Beijing Normal University. 1922 Established the Institute of Chinese Studies in Peking University and served as its director. Later, he served as Dean of Peking University College of Literature, Dean of Fu Jen Catholic University College of Literature and Acting President. After 1925, he served as the director of the Palace Museum. Advocacy and creation of new poetry in the May 4th New Culture Movement: great achievements have been made in the fields of exegetics, philology, phonology and archival science. His works include Guang Yun's Sound System and Shen Jianshi's Academic Essays.
