The story of Du Fu's Caotang:
In the winter of 759 AD, Du Fu took his family from Longyou to avoid the "Anshi Rebellion". (now southern Gansu Province) went to Sichuan and came to Chengdu. In the spring of 76, with the help of friends, a hut was built in the picturesque Huanhua River in the western suburbs of Chengdu. In the spring of 761 AD, the hut was completed and called "Chengdu Caotang".
Du Fu finally lived a quiet life in Chengdu Caotang. But the good times didn't last long. In autumn, there was a strong wind, and Du Fu's hut was actually broken by the strong wind. The thatch covered on the roof was blown about by the strong wind. The wind was very strong, and some grass was swept very high by the wind and wrapped around the branches. Some grass drifted far away and fell into the stream; Others have drifted to the other side of the river.
In p>765, Yanwu died of illness, and Du Fu, who lost his only support, had to bid farewell to Chengdu with his family and family. Two years later, he lived in Jing, Hunan and other places in the Three Gorges. After Du Fu left Chengdu, the thatched cottage was destroyed. During the great calendar year of the Tang Dynasty (November 766-December 779), most of the thatched cottage was taken as a private residence by the concubines (Mrs. Huanhua) of Cui Ning, the then Sichuan provincial envoy.
In p>1952, Du Fu Cottage was completely renovated and officially opened to the public. In 1955, Du Fu Memorial Hall was established. Extended information
Du Fu's Cottage in Chengdu, Sichuan was originally built by Du Fu. Later, the site of the Cottage was found by Wei Zhuang, a poet in the Shu Dynasty five generations ago, and it was rebuilt to preserve it. Du Fu's Cottage was rebuilt many times in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the largest of which was rebuilt twice.
It was in the 13th year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (15) and 16th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1811) that the scale and layout of Du Fu's Caotang were basically established, and it has evolved into a museum integrating the pattern of memorial ancestral temple and the style of the poet's former residence. Only Du Fu's Tomb and Du Gong's Temple have recited more than 6 poems in the past dynasties.
As a teenager, Du Fu traveled to wuyue and Qi Zhao successively, during which he went to Luoyang. After the age of thirty-five, I took the exam in Chang 'an first, and came last. Later, he presented a gift to the emperor and presented it to the nobles. The officialdom was frustrated and witnessed the extravagance and social crisis of the upper class in the Tang Dynasty. In the fourteenth year of Tianbao (755), the Anshi Rebellion broke out, Tongguan fell, and Du Fu moved to many places.
In the second year of Ganyuan (759), Du Fu abandoned his official position and went to Sichuan. Although he escaped from the war and lived a relatively stable life, he still cared about the whole life and the state. He created famous works such as Ascending the Mountain, Spring Hope, Northern Expedition, Three Officials and Three Farewells. Although Du Fu is a realistic poet, he also has a wild and uninhibited side. It is not difficult to see Du Fu's heroism and dry clouds from his masterpiece "Song of the Eight Immortals in Drinking".
The core of Du Fu's thought is the Confucian idea of benevolent government, and he has the grand ambition of "to be a gentleman and to be a gentleman, and then to make the customs pure". Although Du Fu's fame was not prominent when he was alive, his fame spread far and wide, which had a far-reaching impact on China literature and Japanese literature. About 15 poems of Du Fu have been preserved, most of which are collected in Du Gongbu Collection.
In the winter of the fifth year of Dali (77), Du Fu died of illness at the age of 59. Du Fu's influence on China's classical poetry is far-reaching, and he is called "the sage of poetry" by later generations, and his poems are called "the history of poetry". Later generations called him Du Shiyi and Du Gongbu, and also called him Du Shaoling and Du Caotang.
