1. Gongchun
Gongchun (about 1506-1566), also known as Gongchun and Gongchun. He lived during the Jiajing period of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1522-1566 AD). His birth and death are unknown. He is the originator of purple clay pots because of his role in promoting purple clay pots. Gongchun is a teapot learned from monks. It is possible that the purple clay pots were made much earlier than Gongchun.
In the Song Dynasty, there were various pottery pots and pots made of purple clay, but monks only made them for their own use. Gongchun was the first person to become famous for making purple clay pots.
2. Chen Mansheng
The real name is Chen Hongshou (1768-1822), a native of Qiantang (now Yuhang), Zhejiang Province in the Qing Dynasty. His given name is Hongshou, his courtesy name is Zigong, his name is Mansheng, and he is the first species of elm. Taoist, Manggong, Mangong, Jiagu Pavilion Chief, Xuxi Yuyin, etc., one of the "Eight Great Masters of Xiling", are good at ancient Chinese diction, proficient in carving, and are famous for their calligraphy and seal cutting. They are proficient in literature, calligraphy, painting, and seal cutting, and are talented. Extraordinary.
3. Huang Yulin
Born in the late Qing Dynasty (1842-1914), he was another important pot maker after Shao Daheng. The pots he made were exquisite in the selection of clay, and his works were crystal clear. Smooth, exquisite yet ancient, clever and natural. It is said that "every pot he makes must be carefully constructed and selected, and it will be made by accumulating time and money. It is not given due to its high price, and it will not change its quality even if it is empty repeatedly."
4. Gu Jingzhou
Born in 1915 in Shangyuan Village, Chuanbu Township, Yixing, Jiangsu Province, he studied under a famous teacher at the age of 18. In the late 1930s, he went to Shanghai to make antique pots. In 1954, he entered Yixing Shushan Ceramics Cooperative. He is known as the "Master of Pot Art" at home and abroad, and his works are collected by major museums and cultural relics centers at home and abroad.
5. Wang Yinxian
June 16, 1943 - February 28, 2018, female, Han nationality, born in Dingshu Town, Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. He is one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects in China and is a representative inheritor of Yixing purple clay pottery making skills.
