Weifang's nuclear carving is as famous as silver inlaid, antique bronzes, New Year pictures, bronze seals and kites. It is the most exquisite craft crystal and a national treasure. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Zhang Dayan, a famous nuclear sculptor in Zhucheng County, Weifang, Shandong Province, carved beads, twisted beads, bracelets and beads in Beijing Palace. Empress Dowager Cixi returned home in her later years as a disciple in Weinan, Dujia Village, wei county, Shandong Province.
Third, the historical process
In modern times, due to the geographical relationship of nuclear carving artists, Weinan folk artists passed on their stunts to their son Dou Langui. During the Republic of China, in 19 15, Dou Langui and Ding Huaizeng, a nuclear carving enthusiast, presented the Panama Medal for the World Expo, Dou Langui carved "The Pride of Gumala", and Ding Huaizeng signed the report. Dou Langui won a medal.
1933 won the super prize of crystal production exhibition along the national railway. He studied nuclear carving skills all his life, and his masterpieces include Hundred Birds Facing the Phoenix, Hundred Wen Jun Pictures, Hundred Years Pictures and so on. After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao was given a nuclear ship engraved with "Millions of Heroes Crossing the Yangtze River".
1955, Dou Langui was rated as the national old artist; 1956 was rated as the advanced producer; he was elected as the deputy of Weifang Municipal People's Congress and the member of Shandong Provincial Political Consultative Conference; 1960 died.
Fourth, contribution
Du Yisheng, an old nuclear carving artist, actively created and made great contributions to the development of nuclear carving art. He studied under two disciples, Gao Gongqing and Du Chuangong. So that the art of nuclear carving can continue to this day.
Gao Gongqing, an old nuclear carving artist, studied under Wang Xude. On the basis of inheriting the skills of their predecessors, the two men extensively studied the experiences and strengths of the same industry and various industrial artists, and strived to push the nuclear carving art to a new milestone. The nuclear ship carved by his master and apprentice has a unique flavor.
In one of his works, the anchor chain hanging from the stern is connected by 45 oval rings as small as rice grains and as thin as hair, and each section moves freely. Their works are collected by friends all over the world.
Du Chuangong, the grandson of Dou Langui, likes calligraphy and painting since he was a child. At the age of nine, he studied nuclear sculpture with his grandfather Dou Langui. His works include nuclear ships such as Playing in the Water in Kowloon, Eighteen Arhats, Liangshan-Hundred Commanders, The Charm of the West Lake and Millions of Heroes Crossing the Yangtze River. His works have been collected by foreign friends and are now awarded as "Master of Arts and Crafts in Shandong Province".
Weifang nuclear carving has been nearly 300 years. After several generations' painstaking exploration, it has created one novel work after another, which is the icing on the cake for China arts and crafts. These works are treasures as famous as Weifang's "New Year Pictures", "Silver Embedding" and "Kites".
