Dinghushan is a famous scenic spot and summer resort in Guangdong. On July 4th this year, a group of six of us were sent here from Guangzhou to play and recuperate, and our interest was very high.
Climb from the foothills of Dinghu Mountain and stop at Qingyun Temple, grade ***637, and walk for about an hour. At first, along the slope, I saw a huge dark stone, shaped like an elephant lying on the ground, engraved with the word "Ruixiang". Not far from here, you can see towering trees and dense forests. Coupled with the cool breeze and the flowing water, people can't feel the breath of summer. This is a major feature of Dinghu Mountain and the main reason why it is suitable for summer vacation. When we arrived at the Mid-Levels Pavilion, it told us that we were halfway there. There is a couplet in the pavilion that says, "In tourists' paintings, monks talk about water clouds and swords." Quite the scenery here and now, the difference is that we are not wandering monks, but socialist builders. After several more trips, I gradually felt tired, but when I looked up, I saw the mountain pavilion again. We rest here again and enjoy the couplets in the pavilion: "One hundred cities are unparalleled in smoke and water, and Wuling seeks the first mountain." This is a couplet hanging outside the pavilion. The calligraphy is very good and admirable. Mr. Chen Baisha also wrote a word: "If you don't make waves in the world, there will be people who don't be human." Unfortunately, the woodcut handwriting is very poor, which is detrimental to Mr. Bai Shao's calligraphy art. We moved on and soon arrived at Qingyun Temple, and our destination, the staff retreat, also arrived. The staff retreat is a huge project built by the education union here, adjacent to Qingyun, with comfortable environment and elegant layout, which can accommodate more than 100 people. Various facilities are also complete, such as electric lights, running water, bathrooms, dance halls, stadiums, restaurants, sofas, iron beds, canvas beds, bedding and so on. It is worthy of being an ideal rest home.
Feilaitan and Qingyun Temple are the most prominent scenic spots in Dinghushan, and the spectacular Feishuitan makes visitors unforgettable. Hanging between the cliffs, this waterfall rushes down from the top of the mountain, splashing a few feet away like raindrops, which is called "flying water", which is very consistent. The pool is surrounded by green trees, and there are also some rugged stones. Tourists often bathe or swim here. There are several pavilions near the pool for tourists to rest. One of them is called "Eye Pavilion", and its name is quite poetic. Zhang (Taiyan) wrote a banner here: "Clean up the mess". We have visited here several times, because Feishuitan is like a good article, which makes people never tire of reading it. Yuan Mei (Zi Cai), a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, once visited here and wrote a seven-character ancient poem called "A Tour of Dinghu Lake with Yang Lanpo's Mingfu". This poem was carved on a stone tablet and is still in the guest room of Qingyun Temple.
As the saying goes, "There is no big temple in Guangdong". However, Nanhua Temple in Shaoguan and Qingyun Temple in Dinghu are also considered as the major temples in the province. Qingyun Temple is not far from Feishui Beach. From the side door, there is a "cloud top", and a couplet says, "Thousands of trees and pines are full of stones, and hundreds of clouds and flowing water are ringing." It is not bad to use four numbers in a row. Arriving at the main entrance, I saw the couplet: "Lotus has grabbed the first place, and the cloud liquid has flown to the peak." The first sentence is about Qingyun Temple, and the second sentence is about Dinghu Mountain, which is also quite good. The temples are large in scale, including the Dharma Hall, the Dharma Hall, the Pugong Hall and the Guest Hall. And the Great Hero Hall is the most important. It flourished before liberation, but now it has declined. The guest room is specially designed for tourists to rest and receive tourists. It is well decorated, and the walls are covered with pictures, inscriptions, couplets, poems and so on. Generally, tourists who need to spend the night stay in the temple, and there is no accommodation fee. Tourists are happy to help. I ate vegetarian food, the first meal was fifty cents, and the quality was quite good.
