The champion of Wu is far inferior to the champion of Wen. After all, the world is eager to enter a profession. I don't know why there are few records about Zheng Guan in later generations, and there is no record of birth date. Only the reputation of being the champion of both civil and military arts is left. Did he die of jealousy, or did he choose to live in seclusion in the mountains because he was tired of official life, or did he have some mysterious mission that could not erase his life? They are all historical puzzles, and we can only expect more historical materials to be unearthed and solved. ?
From the imperial examination system of martial arts in Tang Dynasty to Wu Zetian, she first selected martial arts talents in Chang 'an, mainly including archery, equestrian, weight bearing and so on. However, the influence of the military imperial examination system is incomparable to that of the civilian imperial examination system, which was interrupted continuously in the Tang Dynasty and did not form a particularly large scale. However, in 828, five years after Zheng Guanying won the first prize in liberal arts, the Tang government held the martial arts imperial examination. At the age of 36, Zheng Guan defeated Shi Li, a candidate of this subject, won the martial arts championship and was promoted to a doctor. ?
As far as I know, in the history of China, the only one who took two martial arts exams was Ma Quan in the Qing Dynasty. Ma Quan's first name was Ma Ying, and he was in Qianlong for seventeen years (1752) (Wu Ke Jinshi exam, and he won the first place in palace examination (exploring flowers)). During his tenure, he had a dispute with his colleagues and was deprived of his official position. In order to wash away his shame, he changed his name to Ma Quan, determined to win fame again, and finally entered palace examination, the top martial arts scholar, in the 25th year of Qianlong (1760).
