Deng Zhongyue's main deeds

Deng Weizheng is incorruptible, cautious and polite, and his way of politics is first of all honest and clean, which is praised and adopted by Yong Zhengdi. Deng Zhongyue has experienced many ups and downs in his life. When he was an assistant minister of etiquette, he relied on honesty and self-reliance to screen out all unnecessary prejudices and old habits. He taught his students to learn Confucian classics according to the method of studying every year, and personally interviewed and carefully supervised them. In the way of governing the country, the first thing to do is to change the customs and eliminate all evils. His suggestion was praised and adopted by the emperor.

Deng Zhongyue is honest, neither attached to power nor attached to others. He was a famous honest and sincere man at that time. The people he recommended, such as Zuodu Yushi Meigucheng and General Political Advisor Hong Lei, are all upright people who are famous all over the world. When he was in Zhejiang, he often admonished Zhu Sheng, saying, "Shame is the key to distinguish between shame and evil, such as paying attention to the situation, flaunting the powerful, praising unnecessarily, and turning one's own flesh and blood into enemies because of trivial matters. What are you ashamed of? If you are calm, you will never do anything irregular. " He admired the lotus flower's character of emerging from the mud without staining, so he wrote the prose "Love Lotus" by Zhou Dunyi, a philosopher in the Northern Song Dynasty, and hung it in class to show his mind.

Deng Zhongyue tried his best to serve his parents. Because his father was ill and hated the smell of tobacco, he never got rid of the habit of smoking all his life. His filial piety was respected and praised by the whole village. He died at the age of 74, and wrote one volume of I don't know, four volumes of Han Xiangge's Poems and four volumes of Anthology.

Deng Zhongyue loved calligraphy all his life and learned good handwriting in his teens. According to legend, in the 60th year of Kangxi, Deng Zhongyue went to Beijing to take the exam, and palace examination ended, ranking among the best. The examiner presented the top ten excellent papers to the emperor. Please ask the emperor to appoint the champion and the second place, Hua Tan. After reading Deng Zhongyue's paper, Kangxi felt that his article was not particularly outstanding, but his handwriting was particularly outstanding. The old emperor has been enthroned for 60 years. It can be said that the Manchu literati wrote well, but it is not necessarily true that they really want to find someone better than Deng Zhongyue. The more the emperor read it, the more he liked it. He mentioned the imperial pen and approved eight words on Deng Zhongyue's paper: "The article is plain and light, and the words are carefully chosen." And named him the first champion. Deng Zhongyue's calligraphy ink is all over the world, and most of them are running scripts handed down from generation to generation. The pavilion in manjuji, a scenic spot in Dongchangfu, has the words "Dragon" and "Tiger" written on two walls, which is magnificent and breathtaking.
