Wu Chengen’s Residence In the middle of the hall is a bust of Wu Chengen, which was restored by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences based on Wu Chengen’s skull and Ming Dynasty people’s clothing. The scientific reproduction of Wu Chengen's appearance during his lifetime is so lifelike. This is the first statue of a historical and cultural celebrity in China that is copied from the remains of a deceased person. In the absence of computer copying at that time, it was indeed valuable.
The couplet above the statue was written by Xiao Xian, a famous female calligrapher and disciple of Kang Youwei: "To subjugate monsters with strength, and to learn from scriptures only with sincerity." The meaning of this couplet goes far beyond the original intention of "Journey to the West". It reveals to people a true meaning of the world: "To defeat evil depends on strength, and to achieve success depends on perseverance."

Entering the courtyard is the living room, which is the main living room of the Wu family. It is a place for holding weddings and funerals and welcoming relatives and guests.
