The influence of regular script in Tang dynasty on later generations
The art of calligraphy in Tang Dynasty directly inherited the tradition of calligraphy in Wei, Jin and Six Dynasties, and was the continuation of the development of calligraphy in Wei, Jin and Six Dynasties. Calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty experienced three stages: the early Tang Dynasty, the prosperous Tang Dynasty and the late Tang Dynasty. From Ou Yangxun to Yang Ningshi, calligraphy made brilliant achievements, which initiated a new era of calligraphy and played a positive role in promoting the art of calligraphy in later generations. As Zhu Guantian said: "With the prevalence of calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty, famous artists came forth in large numbers, which can be said to be far ahead of Wei and Jin Dynasties, followed by Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties."
