Three wonders of Jinci
Built in the heyday of the Song Dynasty (1023-1032), it is the ancestral hall of Jiang Yi, Queen of Zhou Wuwang, and the oldest building in Jinci. In Notre Dame de Jinci, there are Song plastic maids (clay sculptures), old branches and endless old springs, which are also called "Three Musts of Jinci".
Maid clay sculpture is a statue in the Song Dynasty, a treasure in the ancient sculpture art of China, with 43 statues * * *, which is the most famous work of art in Notre Dame Hall. Jiang Yi sat in the middle, solemn and elegant, which strongly showed the appearance and elegance of the Queen. Other colored plastic maids, such as some holding food, some serving daily life, some playing music, singing and dancing, some holding printed calligraphy and so on. They are all about the same age as real people. These attendants are all based on the Qin system, that is, respecting crowns, clothes, food, eyes, seats and ministers. Tang and Song dynasties followed the system, each with a full-time job, and their identities and personalities were the same. They are angry, depressed, angry or sad, with natural and lifelike expressions, delicate and lovely faces, vivid shapes and vivid eyes, expressing the strong dissatisfaction of imprisoned maids who have been devastated physically and mentally. His modelling technique broke through the dullness of religious themes in ancient temples and used realistic creative techniques to create characters with rich thoughts and feelings. It is a masterpiece of ancient clay sculpture in China, with high artistic value.
Bai Zhou, a towering old tree, is located on the left side of Notre Dame Hall, with old branches entwined. It is said that it was planted in the Western Zhou Dynasty, which has been more than 2,700 years. The tree has tilted about 40 degrees to the south, but it is still full of vitality. The left and right plants were planted in the same year, so they are called seven-year-old Cooper. One is an old cypress tree in the southwest of Dongyue Temple. It is 15- 16 meters high and its stem is more than 2 meters thick. It looks like a tornado, leaves are like thick clouds, and it is tall and magnificent. The other is Qi Nianbai on the north side of Notre Dame Hall. Unfortunately, a plant was cut down during Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty. The remaining one, lying like a dragon, leaned against the giant cypress and covered the left side of the hall of Notre Dame. In the third year of Li Qing (1043), Ouyang Xiu of the Northern Song Dynasty came to Jinci to write the poem "The earth and medicine are moist, the ancient cypress is gloomy, and the smoke is pale". Boshan, a famous calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, also left a famous pen of "The First Chapter of the Golden Orchid" beside the tree. There are many ancient trees in Jinci. The oldest and most famous trees are two cypress trees in Zhou Dynasty and three locust trees in Han, Sui and Tang Dynasties.
Jinjiang goes upstream from Zhibo Canal, which makes it difficult to find the old spring. The whole spring system forms a group of architectural combinations. There are seven holes and eight eyes in the spring, the magical mainstay, the Zhang Lang Tower, the mooring boat, the herringbone weir, the ear-washing hole, the real interest pavilion, the old spring pavilion in the South China Sea, and then the jellyfish building. Difficult old spring is known as "the first spring in Jinyang". Spring water gushed from the rocks under the hanging Wengshan Mountain, undercurrent more than ten meters. Inject into the pond from the stone carving dragon mouth on the west bank of the pond. As if dancing in white and listening to the piano ensemble, it constitutes the "sound of the old spring", one of the eight scenic spots in Jinci. It is the main spring source of golden water, with a flow of 1.8 cubic meters. The first ten holes at the source divide water, and the north-south canal. Because of its crystal clear bottom, warm in winter and cool in summer, and endless flow all year round, some people in the Northern Qi Dynasty took the famous sentence "Never tin is difficult to grow old" from the Book of Songs and named it "Difficult Old Spring".
Difficult old springs have watered thousands of acres of fertile land near Jinci from generation to generation, creating a rich scene of "thousands of acres of irrigated rice, fields in the south of the Yangtze River everywhere". Because the spring water contains a variety of minerals, the water temperature is constant and the water quality is excellent, Jinci rice irrigated by Jinshui is crystal clear, full of particles, mellow in taste and endless in aftertaste, and it is the best of the rice with the same name as Tianjin Xiaozhan rice. There is a jellyfish building built in Tianbao period of Northern Qi Dynasty, with three corridors on the first floor and three corridors on the second floor. Inclined mountain roof, plastic jellyfish statue and maid.
There is also a touching story about the origin of the old spring. In Jinsheng Village, 20 miles north of Jinci, a girl named Liu married in gutang Village where Jinci is located. Her mother-in-law abused her and never let her go back to her mother's house. She was asked to carry water every day. The water source is far from home and can only be carried once a day. Mother-in-law is also a temper, only drinking a bucket of water in front of her, deliberately increasing the difficulty of carrying water, not letting her change her shoulders and torturing her. One day, Liu met an old man holding a horse on the way to fetch water. He wanted to drink the horse with water. The old man's face was covered with dust, as if he had come from far away. Liu agreed without hesitation and handed the last bucket of water to the horse. But the horse seemed so thirsty that he even drank a bucket of water. This makes Liu's life very difficult. Let's go again and see if it's late. It's too late to go back and forth. Don't worry, I will be insulted and whipped by my mother-in-law when I go home with an empty bucket. While hesitating, the old man gave Liu Yi a whip to take home. As long as the whip is pumped into the urn, water will naturally gush out and fill the urn. In an instant, the old man and the horse were gone. Liu went home in fear and gave it a try, and it came true. She won't worry anymore. It's strange that my mother-in-law saw that Liu hadn't carried water for a long time, but the urn was always full. I showed it to my sister-in-law and found the secret of flogging. Another day, the mother-in-law allowed Liu to go back to her mother's house for the first time, and her sister-in-law took a whip and smoked it in the urn for a while, and the water came out and overflowed. Sister-in-law panicked and immediately ran to Jinsheng Village to find Liu. Liu was combing his hair, but before he did, he quickly bit a lock of hair into his mouth and ran back to gutang Village. He said nothing and sat down on the urn. Since then, for thousands of years, water has been flowing out of Liu's body, which is the "difficult old spring".

Jinci Temple, located at the foot of Hanging Wengshan Mountain, 25 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan, is the source of Jinshui. The time when Jinci was established cannot be verified. It was first seen in Shui Jing Zhu, with a history of 1400 years. According to the book, Jinci was originally named Tang Shuyu Temple, which was the temple of Hou Tang Shuyu in Jin Dynasty. She is not only the source of Sanjin culture, but also the epitome of Sanjin culture, which brings together the essence of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and folk traditional culture. It has been repaired and expanded many times in past dynasties. The whole Jinci is surrounded by ancient trees, with clear water and clear sound, and the temple is majestic. Li Bai intoned the Jinci Temple and said, "The Jinci Temple runs like a jasper, and the green moth flows in a pool of 100 feet." The famous "Three Musts of Jinci" girls in Nanlaoquan, Bai Zhou and Su Song add beautiful light rings to the ancient Jinci.
Difficult old spring is the source of Jin water and one of the three springs in Jinci. Fish marsh springs and good springs sometimes flow, but old springs never stop talking. Spring water gushes from the rock about five meters underground, with an average flow rate of about 1.8 cubic meters per second, and the annual water temperature is kept at 17 degrees Celsius.
Very clear. Wherever the spring water flows, it will irrigate the fertile fields there. There is a local folk song, "a hundred dishes turn overnight, and eating and drinking do not depend on the sky;" "Born in Jinci, I don't know if there is a dry year." There is a jellyfish building on the old spring, with two floors and five bays, a roof near the mountains and waters, and a statue of gold and copper jellyfish downstairs, which looks natural; In the middle of the building, there is a statue of jellyfish and some portraits of maids with fish faces. According to legend, jellyfish is a village girl who travels long distances to carry water home every day. One day on the way to fetch water, she met a gentleman in white and asked for water to drink horses. She agreed generously and got a whip. Boss told her to put the whip in the jar, and the whip will rise when she needs water, so that she doesn't have to trek to fetch water every day. Soon the village girl's mother-in-law discovered the secret of the whip and pulled it out of the jar. The water overflowed and spilled all over the floor. This is the origin of Jinshui. Bai Zhou is a cypress planted in the Zhou Dynasty three thousand years ago. Its branches are still towering and lush, which is amazing. The plastic maid in the Song Dynasty is like a world-famous masterpiece, and its modeling technique and artistic style are completely divorced from the religious category, which is a portrayal of human life.
There are more than 100 halls, pavilions and pavilions in the shrine, which can be divided into three parts: the middle part, from the water mirror platform to the mother hall, is the main body of the Jinci Temple; From Wenchang Palace in the north, there are scenic spots such as Dongyue Temple and Guandi Temple. From the infant building to the Gongbo Temple in the south. These buildings in different times constitute beautiful gardens, among which the Sacrificial Hall in Jin Dynasty, Notre Dame Cathedral in Song Dynasty and Flying Beams in Fish Ponds are the most famous and occupy an important position in the architectural history of China. Notre Dame Hall is the oldest existing wooden building, and the cross bridge of the flying beam in the fish pond is the only surviving example of this building.
Jinci not only has the natural taste of mountains and rivers, lush trees and birds singing, but also has a series of ancient buildings and carved beams and painted buildings. Its poetic beauty makes people linger, and it is known as "a bright pearl on the Loess Plateau".
