Chronology of Master Guoqing’s Major Events

Born in 1947 in an innocent farming family in Dashe Township, Kaohsiung County. Common name is Li Zicheng. In 1967, he studied in the Chinese Department of National Chung Hsing University. From 1968 to 1969, he served as the general manager of Zhihai Buddhist Society of National Chung Hsing University and began to get close to the old layman Li Bingnan of Taichung Lotus Society. In 1970, he moved to Taichung Lotus Society and studied Pure Land and Confucian Analects ethics. In July 1971, he graduated from the Chinese Department of National Chung Hsing University and served in the military in Matsu for one year. From 1972 to 1973, he taught at Taiwan Zhongren High School. From 1974 to 1977, he studied in the "Inner Classics Research Class" of the Lotus Society. Classes are taught by Master Huixing from Nanfang Pumen Lecture Hall and others. From 1977 to 1981, he served as secretary of Ciguang Kindergarten. He also taught calligraphy and basic Buddhist teachings to female teachers. On the 8th day of the fourth lunar month in 1982, I became a monk at Yuantong Temple in Puli. Master Shang Yongxia Ci was ordained as Acharya. The name of the Dharma is clear and the fruit is clear, and the name of the name is the right reason. On December 9, 1982, he received full ordination at Shulin Haiming Zen Temple in Taipei. The monk who received the precepts is the old monk Enlightenment, the monk Acharya Karma is the old monk Baisheng, and the professor Acharya is the old monk Taoyuan. In 1983, Elder Shengguan asked Hai Gong to lecture on "The Four-part Vinaya Bhikkhu Precepts" for lawyer Guo Qing's sake. Therefore, he was able to get close to Hai Gong. In 1985, I listened to Hai Gong's lecture on "A Brief Interpretation of Random Karma" at Foguang Temple. I re-taught it in Taiwanese and compiled "A Brief Explanation of Random Karma". On March 19, 1987, I received the bhikkhu ordination from the Venerable Bodhisattva Bodhisattva at the Vietsekha Buddhist Temple in Thailand (Vice-Monk King of Thailand). I had prayed and confessed before. In the same year, he was hired to teach at Jingluxue Buddhist Academy. From 1991 to 1994, the two winters were closed. In Guanzhong, he traveled to Panzhou Samadhi and read Tibetan Buddhism. Zongqiong announced his ancestor Yuan Zong Sanju. (The three pure precepts include (1) the precepts of observing the laws and rituals, (2) the precepts of absorbing the good Dharma, and (3) the precepts of absorbing all living beings. That is to say, stopping evil, doing good, and saving all living beings.) After being released from seclusion in 1994, he assumed the post of Zheng The second abbot of Juejingshe. Take observing the precepts as the foundation, taking Tiantai as the ancestral home, and taking the Pure Land as the return. The precepts include the major and minor, and the prohibition, both parts are declared together. He lectured on "Buddhist Sutra", "Novice Rites", "Four Points of Monks' Precepts and Appearances", etc. In October 1997, he resigned as the second abbot of Zhengjue Jingshe and began to retreat again. Guanzhong read the Vinaya Pitaka for the second time, went deep into yoga, Madhyamaka, and Tiantai teachings, hand-copied "The Buddha Speaks the Brahma Net Sutra and the Bodhisattva's Heart and Ground Appreciation Volume 1", and practiced Prajna Samadhi three times. In 1998, he was appointed as the director of the Buddhist Sangha Medical Care Foundation. In November 2000, he took over as the abbot of Zhengjue Jingshe. Started lectures on "Records of the Precepts and Appearances of Four-point Bhikshunis", "A Brief Interpretation of Random Karma", "Buddha's Explanation of the Brahma Net Sutra on the Bodhisattva's Heart and Ground", "Three Sutras of the Legacy", etc. On August 31, 2001, he served as the first session of the Nanlin Sangha to teach Yoga, Bodhisattva, and Karma Acharya. On January 7, 2003, he served as a monk who was ordained as a bhikshuni ordained by the second section of the third session of the Nanlin Sangha. On November 3, 2003, I went into retreat in the thatched cottage behind Zhengjue Jingshe. In 2004, he was appointed as the vice chairman of the Buddhist Sangha Medical Care Foundation. Released from customs on December 10, 2006. On January 1, 2007, he took over as the abbot of Yuantong Temple.
