I didn't understand the word "slow" until I was confused.

It suddenly occurred to me that the former boss of the company gave me a parting practice: when you understand that "things are wrong and things are round", you will almost practice at home. What he said was casual and I didn't care. I nodded and said yes, full of ambition and high spirits. Time flies, I am not confused when I am ready to read minds!

Now the times are changing rapidly, and the fast pace drives people to race against time and keep running forward. It seems that as long as you slack off for a moment, your own fame or overnight wealth will change hands. In retrospect, apart from being exhausted, stressed and at a loss, it seems that there are only a few pieces of money left.

Isn't the speed and efficiency we are striving for wrong?

Here, Confucius warned us: it is impossible to achieve the goal blindly.

So we need to treat fast and slow dialectically. The words and deeds between speed and speed provide us with valuable and effective experience: things are slow and round, people are slow and safe, and words are late and expensive.

There is a theoretical basis for delaying things. The book Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, deeply studies and expounds the thinking mode of human speed and speed system. Among them, fast thinking relies on intuition for unconscious thinking, while slow thinking is conscious thinking under people's active control. Because the fast thinking system runs fast and consumes less brain power, the innate inertia of the brain often chooses this mode that is easy to lead to prejudice and mistakes, while ignoring the slow thinking that can be actively controlled and consciously. This award-winning research theory makes us understand that in the face of important things, it is best to go beyond simple and quick but error-prone thinking, calm down and let us enter controlled and conscious slow thinking, and often get satisfactory results.

This fable of encouraging seedlings shows that you can't eat hot tofu if you are impatient. The operation of things has its inherent objective laws, which are not transferred by human will. Recognizing the thinking mode of the brain, following the objective development law of things, making decisions before acting, will definitely make a correct judgment on things. Therefore, it is the cognitive embodiment of "things are slow and round".

"Things are slow and round" comes from Yu Wanchun's "Dangkou Zhi" in the Qing Dynasty: "This matter seems to be wide and round, and it is difficult to have a result." It means not to rush, but to slow down and think calmly in order to get a happy ending.

This chapter is selected from Biography of Yu Zhao in Ming Dynasty. When Zhao Yu first arrived in Songjiang Prefecture, she was worried about the local custom of litigating. Every time I meet a litigant, I always say, "Come back tomorrow", so everyone laughs at him, and there is a ballad of "Songjiang Prefecture will come back tomorrow". After a night of waiting, the anger of the litigants gradually subsided, or they were discouraged by others, and most of them stopped the lawsuit. During Zhao Yu's term of office, he not only made great achievements, but also was famous for his harmony with the people. The story tells us that at the beginning of a thing, it is often difficult for people to understand the whole picture in a short time and there is not enough time to think. Only by controlling your emotions, sorting out the cause and effect of things, and then dealing with things, will the problem be solved.

Kangxi reigned for sixty-one years. He worked hard all his life and his economy developed rapidly. Therefore, the Qing Dynasty became the most vast, populous and economically developed country in the world at that time. In A.D. 1674, Wu Sangui and Geng rebelled one after another, but Kangxi was uncharacteristically surrounded by Nanyuan. It was his calmness that gave the ministers and generals confidence, thus successfully surviving the crisis. Therefore, when encountering major events, we should not be impetuous. You should calm down and think twice before you act, with a calm and broad-minded attitude.

In A.D. 1356, Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, wiped out the water army of the Yuan Dynasty and then occupied Qing Ji (now Nanjing). At this time, Zhang Shicheng, Chen Youliang and Fang Guozhen, who were entrenched in Zhejiang, Sichuan and Huguang, successively became kings. Zhu Yuanzhang knew that he was not strong enough. Surrounded by a strong enemy, he wisely made the choice of "building a high wall, accumulating grain and slowly becoming king", and finally. Isn't this a good embodiment of "people are slow and safe"

Besides, everything is speed first at present. Don't you see that in order to "race against time", traffic accidents occur frequently, and the tragic scene of family destruction and death is really chilling. If you want to be safe, you must be slow and you must be safe for a long time.

"Slow flow in deep water makes people expensive" comes from the Book of Rites written by Dai Sheng in the Western Han Dynasty. Literally, the deeper the water, the slower it flows and the slower educated people speak. Steady people always speak slowly and thoughtfully, which not only avoids disasters from popping out of their mouths, but also gives people a feeling of calmness and broadmindedness.

Known as "China's first hope", Wang Langya began in the Spring and Autumn Period and has been enduring for thousands of years. There are many talents, more than 90 people are prime ministers, and the famous calligrapher Wang Xizhi is also famous. Wang Langya's six-character family rule "speak slowly and be kind to others" should be the only magic weapon to build a noble family.

All in all, the feeling is urgent and things are slow. Remember to practice the golden saying that "things are slow and round, people are slow and safe, and words are late and expensive", which will surely benefit endlessly.
