Mao Longbi in Chen Baisha Memorial Hall

Mr. Baisha was also the most famous calligrapher in Lingnan in Ming Dynasty. His calligraphy, rooted in Ou Yangxun and Su Dongpo, won the masculine strength of his bones and muscles, and was praised by later calligraphers for the agility of the two kings and Huai Su. Mao Long calligraphy created by Mr. Baisha in his later years, with astringency to cure sweetness and refinement to cure weakness, washed away the weak calligraphy style at the time of Yuan and Ming Dynasties and became famous in the book world. Mr. Bai Sha once had some famous sayings, such as "Mao Jun used his skill a little, and then he called it strange", "Mao Longfei got drunk and left the right army's nest", and "shame on independence, don't insult independence, Mao Feng sticks fragrant". Mr. Baisha left many traces of calligraphy, such as the first tablet in Lingnan, the tablet in Ciyuan Temple (stone carving running script), Zanren (woodcut running script), planting horses (paper hand scroll, running script) and so on. Baisha Maolong Pen, well-known at home and abroad, has been handed down from generation to generation and has been declared as an intangible cultural heritage by the state. Baisha Maolong Pen, which is supervised by Chen Baisha Memorial Hall, is made of Guifeng Mountain wild Maolong Pen, which is refined through many processes, such as material selection, fiber beating, anticorrosion, dipping, bundling, carding and so on. The nib is sharp, the belly is round and elastic, and the pen shape is simple and generous. As long as the amount of ink is moderate, when writing or painting, it is easy to form a natural "tying line" and "flying white" effect, which is deeply loved by famous painters and painters. The late masters of calligraphy and painting in our province, such as Ou, Chen Yongqiang, Xue, Zhang Ruiheng and Li Zhuojian, all like to use Mao Longbi to create calligraphy and painting, and they often get unexpected miraculous effects.
