Ming Shenzong was furious when he learned of this incident, and ordered the East Factory, the Royal Guards and the Wucheng Police Station to search immediately, so that "the name of the book owner should be created" and the second "demon book case" arose.
In "Continued Worry and Danger", Zhu Geng, a cabinet university student, and Shen, the recorder, were named and attacked, saying that they were accomplices. Both of them were frightened to disgrace. In addition to defending themselves immediately, they had to accept the crime at home in order to avoid suspicion. In order to turn passive into active, Shen Meng-gao instigated Qian Meng-gao to act rashly, framing the right assistant minister of does and Shen Li, another cabinet college student related to the "demon case".
Shen Li was framed, not only because Shen Li and Shen have always been at odds, but also because there were only three cabinet members at that time-Shen and Zhi Zhu, and Shen Li, Shen and Zhu Zhi were all named by The Demon Book. Only Shen Li is not on the list, presiding over the cabinet work alone. Naturally, people will doubt him.
And framed, first, because of a very unpleasant affair with Shen because the king of Chu was imprisoned, and second, Tongzhi wrote a letter denouncing the discipline of Ruan Mingqing, who was Qian Menggao's son-in-law. Qian Menggao needs to find a scapegoat in order to excuse his son-in-law. Zhengyu Guo is not only Shen Li's favorite pupil, but also a native of Hu Hua. In addition, he had been dismissed from office at that time and was about to leave Beijing, so he was suspected of "venting his anger".
To sum up, Shen and Qian Menggao teamed up to frame Shen Lihe, but it was a striking revenge, but it caused a big prison.
Zhengyu Guo was arrested as he was about to leave the capital. When Kang Piyang searched Shen Li's house, he also involved famous monks and officials (famous teachers), famous doctors Shen and Qin Shichong. Kang Piyang pointed out that the "demon case" and the "Chu case" are in the same strain. Bai Zhen, a great philosopher, has been running around all walks of life in Beijing because he asked the court to stop levying mining tax, and was hated by those in power, so he was also implicated. Daguan and Shen were both tortured, Daguan was even tortured and falsely accused of committing crimes. After he was released from prison, he took a bath and sat waiting for death. Another doctor, Shen, was also tortured. But none of them involved people like Shen hoped.
Here, I will focus on the joint hearing of Dongchang, Jinyiwei and Sanfa Department (the Ministry of Punishment, Duchayuan and Dali Temple). In order to make Shen plead guilty, many arrangements were made in advance. Shen's wet nurse's daughter, only ten years old, was also called to the lobby to testify. Chen Ju, the prefect of the East Factory (the one who brought Lv Kun's boudoir map into the palace before) asked the little girl: How many discs do you think there are printed demon books? The little girl said, a room full. Chen couldn't help laughing in an instant. There are only 300 words, and there are only two pieces of paper at most. Where can we get a room full of printing plates? The feud between Shen and Shen is obvious, so the framing of Shen and Shen cannot be established.
At this time, someone came out to report it. Wang Zhizhen, the governor of Royal Guards, and other four people exposed Zhou Jiaqing's connection with the demon book, but it was soon discovered that it was a false accusation. The case is getting more and more complicated. Plaintiff Hu Hua admitted that he falsely accused Ruan Mingqing of writing a demon book. S: "In a few days, at noon, everyone in Beijing is in danger!" The officials involved in the trial were hinted by Shen, who wanted to force Ruan Mingqing, the son-in-law who framed Qian Menggao, to admit that he was the mastermind of The Demon Book. Hu Hua disagreed and said: "(Ruan) Ming and Qing Dynasties, because I hate him, so I won't trust him." (Guo) Zheng Yu has been a scholar for twenty years, so I can't ask. Why do you want to write demon books together? "
Because Zhengyu Guo used to be a lecturer (teacher) of Prince Zhu Changluo, Zhu Changluo heard about it and said to the waiter, "Why did you kill me to be a lecturer?" This is quite meaningful, and everyone is afraid. In order to rescue the teacher, he specially sent a message to Chen Ke, the prefect of Dongchang, asking him to have mercy. Chen is smart in an instant. Although the prince's position is unstable, he will never offend him easily. In addition, there is no evidence that Zhengyu Guo is related to the "devil case", which is obviously a big unjust prison. Later, it was Chen's timely help that saved him from being framed.
The trial of Zhengyu Guo lasted for five consecutive days, but it never ended. Ming Shenzong was furious, so he wrote a letter to the panicked officials. The East Factory and the Royal Guards, including the Beijing Camp, are under a lot of pressure, and everyone in Beijing is in danger. Therefore, scapegoats must be found as soon as possible.
On November 21st, the 31st year of Wanli (1603), ten days after the discovery of the demon book, Dongchang captured a suspicious man, and Tai revealed that his brother Tai Shengguang was related to the "demon book case".
Zhai Shengguang was born in Shuntianfu (not only an official student in the Ming Dynasty, but also a kind of surname), and he was cunning by nature and specialized in "printing and cheating" for a living. Feng Menglong, a Ming Dynasty man, recorded a story about him in The Complete Works of Think Tanks: A squire visited and asked for a jade cup to please the dignitaries in the DPRK, and wanted to give it to the dignitaries as a birthday present. He also sent a gift. Three days later, Tai Shengguang took a pair of jade cups to sell, saying that the jade cups were sent by the government and were worth 100 gold. Now, only 50 gold is enough. The gentry happily bought it. A few days later, suddenly, the pawnbroker came in a hurry with two noisy people. On closer inspection, it turned out to be Yi Shengguang and a eunuch. Yi Shengguang said with a frown that the jade cup sold to the gentry last time was a treasure in the palace and was stolen by the eunuch and sold. The present situation has been revealed. Only by putting it back, can both sides be safe. The gentry was greatly embarrassed, and the jade cup was sent to the dignitaries and could not be retrieved. So, I had to ask Yi Shengguang to find a way. Embarrassed, it took him a long time to agree to help. He suggested that the gentry pay bribes to eunuchs and government officials, or be exempted from punishment. The gentry had no choice but to agree and take out nearly two hundred pieces of silver. In the future, I know I will take the opportunity to cheat money, but I have no choice.
Not only that, Tai Shengguang also boldly blackmailed Zheng Guifei's brother Zheng Guotai through the "national disaster". At that time, there was a wealthy businessman named Bao Jizhi, who entrusted Yi Shengguang to compile poems in order to be arty. Tai Shengguang deliberately put a five-law in his poems, including a sentence "Zheng Zhu rode in a yellow house", implying that Zheng Guifei seized the throne for his son. Bao Jizhi didn't understand it at all, so he published a collection of poems. Yi Shengguang immediately asked someone to blackmail Bao Jizhi, saying that his poems were contradictory. Bao Jizhi knew that he had been cheated, but he was helpless and had to pay compensation. Tai Shengguang blackmailed Zheng Guotai with a collection of poems. Zheng Guotai was timid, and the public opinion in the ruling and opposition was unfavorable to Zheng Guifei, so he had to pay the price.
After Tai Cai Sheng exposed his infamous brother, all his actions before Tai Shengguang were exposed. If he got the treasure, the Royal Guards immediately arrested Tai Shengguang and tortured him.
At this point, the case may have ended. Xiao Daheng, the minister of punishments, introduced the "demon case" to Shen in order to please him. However, Zhai Shengguang showed the last backbone and never implicated others under torture. His wife and ten-year-old son were tortured, but they did not confess as Xiao Daheng wished.
Although everyone knows that the "demon case" has nothing to do with Tai Shengguang, even Shen and Zhu Geng, who are eager to close the case, don't believe it. They think that the article "Continued Worry and Danger" is so profound that they can't do it unless they are familiar with the court ministers. A down-and-out scholar like Tai Shengguang has absolutely no such ability. However, Ming Shenzong, who was anxious to calm down the incident, closed the case in a hurry. Tai Shengguang was executed that year and his family was sent to exile in the frontier.
After the death of Tai Shengguang, the bizarre second "demon book case" went away, and the real author of the "demon book" has never been known. After the demon case, Zhu Huakui, the king of Chu, contributed 22,000 silver to the court on the grounds of helping workers. On the way, in Hanyang, Zhu Yunqian, the imperial clan of the State of Chu, was dissatisfied with the way the court handled it, and gathered hundreds of people to rob it. Local judges and other officials arrested 32 leaders on the spot and sent them to prison. Then the clan of the king of Chu rioted and broke into the mansion, trying to get back the silver and the captured clan. Zhou Yingzhi (a native of Yinxian County, who built Tianquan Academy in Huizhou when Guangdong participated in politics, see Ye Mengxiong's Tianquan Academy) couldn't help it, and even was beaten, so he had to hide in the folk. Zhao Kehuai, the minister of war, the right deputy envoy and the governor of Huguang, is familiar with Chu Fan's situation. Because of Shen's intention in dealing with the case of "the false king of Chu", Zong Fan bears a grudge against Zhao Kehuai's injustice. When Zhao Kehuai arraigned the wanted criminal, Qian told him to break the shackles and killed him on the spot. In April of the thirty-third year of Wanli, Tianfu, Huguang City, was escorted to death, while Dui and others committed suicide, and Jiao and Bang were imprisoned, which is known as the "prison robbery case".
After a period of time, the "demon book" began to spread in the ruling and opposition parties. In fact, it was written by Zhao Shizhen, a calligrapher of Wuyingdian.
Zhao Shizhen was an outstanding firearms expert in the history of Ming Dynasty. He developed and improved many kinds of firearms all his life. Due to political failure, his name failed to go down in history like Song and Xu Guangqi.
Zhao Shizhen's life is quite legendary. I was a student in my early years and studied in the capital. He can write a good hand, and calligraphy is known as "the bones soar and the sound is contemporary". At that time, people rushed to buy this poem written by Fan. A eunuch also likes Zhao Shizhen's calligraphy very much. He bought a poem fan and took it into the palace. As a result, Ming Shenzong saw it and was very grateful. Zhao Shizhen rose to a high position, was called into the imperial court as a cloth, and served as the main book of the temple. Quik Temple is a bit like a state guesthouse. Its daily duty is for the emperor and envoys of foreign countries or ethnic minorities to go to the capital to see the emperor or pay tribute, and provide food and entertainment according to the level.
Zhao Shizhen is bold and courageous and has a wide range of friends. In the fifth year of Wanli (1577), Zhang lost his father and refused to go home to attend the funeral because of his lust for power, which shocked the ruling and opposition parties. Five ministers were sentenced to death. Zhao Shizhen, who is not afraid to enter the official position, has been nursed and cared for, and the poet has a strong reputation, so he is called a celebrity who entered the official position through other channels. However, he was frustrated all his life because he "had a good life and was not polite to bureaucrats or officials", and he offended many people because he made firearms. After working as the master book of the temple for 18 years, he was promoted to the position of Wuyingtang Sheren, which was often suspected and vilified. After Tai Shengguang was killed, it was widely rumored in Beijing that "The Demon Book" was written by Dong Shizhen. Zhao Shizhen is exhausted for this. It is said that he was insane, and even dreamed many times that he was dying, and finally he could not afford to get sick and died of depression.
But Zhao Shizhen is the author of the demon book, which has always been a legend and there is no evidence. No one knows who the real author is. Although the "demon case" is flat, its influence has gone far beyond the court and spread all over the ruling and opposition parties, and the sinister court struggle has not subsided.
After the demon case, the famous "three cases in the late Ming Dynasty" followed one after another, which was actually the continuation of the party struggle in Lindong.
