1. Open Photoshop CS4 software and execute the menu "File"/"New" (shortcut key Ctrl+N), and a new dialog box will pop up with the name: book cover design, width: 204 mm, height: 140 mm, resolution: 300 pixels/inch, and color mode: RGB color.
2. Press Ctrl+R to display the ruler, select the moving tool in the toolbox, and drag the auxiliary line on the edge of the ruler;
3. Set the foreground color to yellow (#e5d7bc) and press Alt+Delere to fill the color;
4. Execute menu: Filter/Miscellaneous/Add Miscellaneous, and the dialog box of adding Miscellaneous pops up, and set the quantity 10%, distribution: uniform distribution and monochrome;
5. Click the New Layer button below the Layers panel to create a new "layer 1", as shown in Figure 5; Select the rectangle box selection tool in the toolbox, draw a rectangle on the right side of the page, and set the foreground color to #d2c7b2. Press Alt+Delete to fill the color, and then press Ctrl+D to deselect it.
6. Execute the menu File/Placement to pop up the placement dialog box, place the cover design material 0 1.png, adjust the position, and press enter, then execute the menu Layer/Rasterization/Layer;
7. Set the opacity of the "Book Cover Design Material 0 1" layer to 50% on the layer panel;
8. Select the "Book Cover Design Material 0 1" layer, click the Add layer mask button at the bottom of the layer panel to add layer mask, then select the gradient tool in the toolbox, select the "black and white gradient" style and linear gradient on the tool options bar, and then drag the gradient on the page, as shown in Figure 9;
9. Execute the menu File/Placement to pop up the placement dialog box, place the cover design material 02.png, adjust the position, and press enter, then execute the menu Layer/Rasterization/Layer;
10. On the layer panel, set the blending mode of the "cover design material 02.png" layer to "strong light";
1 1. Execute the menu File/Place to pop up the Place box. Place 03.png, adjust the position, press enter, and then execute the menu Layer/Rasterization/Layer;
12. Select the rectangle selection tool in the toolbox, draw a rectangle with the same size on the "Cover Design Material 03" layer of the page, and execute the menu "File"/"Edit"/"Stroke", and the stroke dialog box will pop up with the width set to 20px and the color set to #8a7f6d. After setting, click "Stroke".
13, select the straight text tool in the toolbox, input: Dream of Red Mansions, set the font as Lishu, the font size is 48 points, and the color is white;
14. Right-click the text layer and select the Blending option from the right-click menu, and the layer style dialog box will pop up. Check the projection option and set the blending mode as follows: overlay the positive film, set the shadow color to red, the opacity to 100% and the angle to 120 degrees, and check the global light.
15, select the straight text tool in the toolbox, input: Story of Stone, set the font as Lishu, the size is: 14 point, and the color is: black;
16, select the linear text tool in the toolbox, input: Cao e, set the font as: official script, size: 9 o'clock, and the color is black;
17, select the horizontal text tool in the toolbox, input: China Classical Literature Series, set the font to Song Dynasty, the size is 9 points, and the color is black;
18, select the horizontal text tool in the toolbox, input: Guangdong Literature and Art Publishing House, set the font as: Chinese line block, the size is: 10 dot, and the color is: black;
19. Copy the title of the book and the border of the material in written form, move it on the spine of the book, and execute the menu Edit/Free Transform (shortcut key Ctrl+T) to adjust the size;
20. Select the straight text tool in the toolbox, enter: author Cao E in the spine, set the font as: official script, font size: 8 o'clock, color: black;
2 1, select the linear text tool in the toolbox, input: Guangdong Literature and Art Publishing House, set the font as: Chinese line block, the size is: 10 point, and the color is: black;
22. Execute the menu File/Placement to pop up the Placement dialog box, place the cover design material 04.png, adjust the position, and press enter, then execute the menu Layer/Rasterization/Layer.
23. Set the opacity of the "Book Cover Design Material 04" layer to 50% on the layer panel;
24. Select the "Book Cover Design Material 0 1" layer, click the Add layer mask button at the bottom of the layer panel, add the layer mask, select the gradient tool in the toolbox, select the "black and white gradient" style and linear gradient on the tool options bar, and then drag the gradient on the page;
25. Click the New Layer button under the Layers panel to create a new layer 2;
26. Select the rectangular box selection tool in the toolbox, draw a rectangle at the bottom of the page, set the foreground color to white, press Alt+Delete to fill in white, and then press Ctrl+D to cancel the selection;
27. Click the New Layer button at the bottom of the layer panel to create a new layer 3;
28. Select the pencil tool in the toolbox, set different pen tip sizes through the combination of left and right bracket keys, and press the Shift key to draw a vertical line;
29. Drag "Layer 3" to the button to create a new layer, copy "Copy of Layer 2", adjust the position, then select the rectangle box selection tool in the toolbox, select up and down, press the Delete key to delete, and then press the Ctrl+D key to cancel the selection;
30. Select the horizontal text tool in the toolbox, enter the book number, set the font to Song Dynasty, the size is 6 points, and the color is black;
3 1. Click the New Layer button below the Layers panel to create a new "Layer 4";
32. Select the pencil tool in the toolbox, set the size of 3px nib, and press Shift to draw a horizontal line, as shown in Figure 37.
33. Select the horizontal text tool in the toolbox, enter the book number and pricing, set the font to Song Dynasty, the size is 6 points, and the color is black;
34. Select the horizontal text tool in the toolbox, and enter the text responsible for editing and cover design as well as the book introduction.
