Liang Qichao's couplet conquers Zhang Zhidong.

Liang Qichao was one of the main advocates of the Reform Movement of 1898 in the late Qing Dynasty. When he was young, he was a famous child prodigy, especially good at writing pairs. As an adult, Liang Qichao is more knowledgeable. Seeing the present situation of social decline, he was anxious to run and try his best to save the country. Once he visited Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang, and wanted to talk about reform and improvement. However, Zhang Zhidong was annoyed when he saw Liang Qichao's post-worship, because Liang Qichao was so arrogant that he even called himself his brother. So I asked my servant to bring Liang Qichao a pair of couplets, hoping to make him retreat.

The first couplet reads: "Wearing clothes and holding the Nine Immortals Bone makes you crazy and rude."

As soon as Liang Qichao saw it, he immediately made a couplet: "Go to Wan Li Road and read thousands of books. The chivalrous man is proud of being a minister."

The servant brought Liang Qichao's next script. Zhang Zhidong was amazed at the content of the next script. Knowing that Liang Qichao was not an ordinary person, he personally greeted the door and talked with Liang Qichao.
