Chou Yuan (1247 ~ 1326) was born in Qiantang (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). Because he lives in Qiushan, Yuhang Creek, he is called Mr. Mountain Village. A writer and calligrapher in Yuan Dynasty. During Yuan Dade's reign (1297~ 1307), he was appointed as a professor of Confucianism in Liyang at the age of 58, and soon came back, thus ending in melancholy.
Chou Yuan is an elegant man by nature. He likes to travel around famous mountains and rivers and always expresses his feelings in his poems. At the end of the Song Dynasty, Bai Wei, a poet at that time, was called "White Hate" in Zhejiang. Qiu lives in troubled times, and his poems often express his sighs about the rise and fall of the country and the changes of personnel, such as Cai, He Fan's Mourning for the Lord, A Snowbird and Bamboo Stone Picture, Liu Youcheng's Xiufu, Nostalgia, Phoenix Mountain Forbidden City, Chaotianmen City Corner and so on.
Zhou Yuan had a famous poem in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the Yuan Dynasty made him a professor of Confucianism, but he didn't pay much attention to Confucian scholars at that time. Qu Yuan's "Qi Tianle Cicada" and other words are also highly praised by predecessors in Etymology, and are considered as "extremely recitable". As the saying goes, "Red Gate Lane at sunset is a deserted city song, which is clear and Qiu Shu listens early. Thin silk clothes, cool temples, and drink the wind and dew in the sky alone. In the morning and evening, Naiceng mourns, still echoing, and suddenly flies to other branches. The past of the Qi Palace is full of the province, and pedestrians still talk about it.
At that time, women were all together, the rain rested on empty mountains, and the moon was full of ancient willows, as if listening to the words of the old place. Leaving love is bitter, and I am lazy to brush ice. Tired of playing the piano, the ground is frosty and red, and the shallow sand seeks to shed its feathers. "The whole word is full of bitterness. In fact, it is a lyric poem, which shows his melancholy mood and dissatisfaction with reality. It's just that the meaning is vague and extremely obscure. Chou Yuan's ci style is similar to that of Zhou Bangyan in the Northern Song Dynasty and Jiang Kui in the Southern Song Dynasty.
