Is Liu Desheng the representative official script of Cheng Miao's creation?
No, the representative works of official script created by Cheng Miao are the bamboo slips of Qin Dynasty unearthed in Yunmeng, Hubei Province and the bamboo slips in December of the first year of Wufeng in Han Dynasty. Li Shu's masterpiece has nothing to do with Liu Desheng. Liu Desheng, a native of Yingchuan (now Yuzhou City), was a famous calligrapher during the Huan and Ling Dynasties in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The founder of running script calligraphy, because he created a "running script" font between regular script and cursive script, was also called "the originator of running script" by later generations.
