? Learn the wisdom of life from the Book of Changes
"The Book of Changes Qian" says: "Modest and prosperous, a gentleman will eventually die." This means that a humble person can have everything go smoothly. There are very few people who can remain humble. Only a gentleman can always persist. Sometimes it is precisely a temporary loss of humility that brings disaster.
Originally, I stole meat and showed it off, I am ugly and I like to hear praise from others, so it was natural for me to be plotted against.
After many people become successful, they have a tendency to show off. Once they show off too much, their success will soon be taken back.
The ancients often said: "Modernity will benefit, but fullness will bring harm." This is the truth, and if you want to avoid success flying away in your mouth, you must always remain humble.
"Book of Changes·Qian" says: "On the sixth day of the lunar month: A humble gentleman will be lucky if he crosses a large river." This means that a humble gentleman will be lucky if he crosses a large river. Humility is what you ask of yourself.
Whether a person is modest or not has nothing to do with praise from others, but rather personal restraint and self-discipline. Only by knowing how to exercise self-restraint can one be able to face praise without getting carried away, and be able to remain calm in the face of provocations from others.
It is human nature to like to hear compliments. If you don't know how to exercise restraint and believe it to be true, you will become intoxicated by it. This kind of intoxicated pride and complacency will become a fatal weakness. Self-exaltation will lead to danger, complacency will lead to overflowing.
"Book of Changes Qian" says: "Six Two: Ming Qian, Zhenji." It means that if you are good at expressing your inner feelings, doing so sincerely from your heart must be auspicious.
Only when a person is humble from the heart can he be truly humble and can he know himself.
Confucius asked Zigong: "Which one is stronger, you or Yan Hui?"
Zigong replied: "How can I compare with Yan Hui? He can know ten with one." , I can only know two with one.”
Zigong’s humility comes from the inside out. Although his ability is not as good as that of Yan Hui, his calmness because of his self-awareness is even more admirable.
"Book of Changes: Qian" says: "Ninety-three, a gentleman who works hard and is humble will have good luck in the end." It means that if a gentleman works hard and is humble, he will be lucky.
In the history of our country, many talented military strategists and politicians ended up with bad consequences because they worked hard but did not know how to restrain themselves.
The same is true today. The greater your contribution, the lower your head must be. Be humble and protect yourself. Otherwise, once the proud attitude is exposed, disaster is not far away.
"The Book of Changes: Modesty" says: "Sixty-four, no disadvantage, false modesty." This means that the most disadvantageous thing is to exert modesty.
Only those who are capable and connotative can be said to be humble. Also because I understand that there are people outside the world and there is a sky outside the world. Therefore, be more aware of your own shortcomings and make up for yourself.
This is what it means to say that humility makes people progress. Humility is not only an attitude, but also a self-encouragement and self-promotion of behavior.
