What does hermit calligraphy mean at the end of Yuan Dynasty?

At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the government was corrupt and the royal family fought for power and profit. There are wars and social unrest everywhere. Many literati gradually lost confidence in the country, so they lived in seclusion in the rivers and lakes, wandered the streets, and devoted their lives to calligraphy and painting. There are many outstanding calligraphers, such as Zhenwu, Yang Weizhen, Lu and Ni Zan. Their writing styles are wild or simple, but they all have one thing in common, that is, they don't fall behind the barriers of Zhao School. Although the calligraphy of these hermits failed to become the mainstream style of calligraphy in the Yuan Dynasty, as an aesthetic type with high value, it is also remarkable in the history of calligraphy in the Yuan Dynasty.
