Since then, he has met with Han Pucong many times at Wanshantang in Xiyuan to discuss Buddhist issues with him. Since then, Fu Lin has become more and more interested in Buddhism. He hoped that Han Pucong could introduce more monks to Beijing to talk about Taoism. Han Pucong listed the living monks of Longchi Sect of Lin Ji for the emperor's reference. Fu Lin took Han Pucong as an introductory teacher and awarded him the title of "Mingjue Zen Master".
Since Fu Lin was introduced into Buddhism through Han Pucong, he personally revised the Oracle and invited Yu Linxian, Mu Chenlong, Xuan Shuidai and others to Beijing. Since then, in Fu Lin Palace, the altar has often been built high. When talking about classics and Taoism, Fu Lin gradually became addicted to Buddhism. Among all the eminent monks, Yu Linxi, Yin Xisen and Mu Chenlong had the greatest influence on Fu Lin.
Yulin Xian is a famous Zen monk in Lin Ji, who thinks highly of himself. He didn't come to Beijing until Fu Lin invited him many times. Fu Lin had great respect for this transcendent monk in appearance, words and deeds, and specially asked him to give himself a dharma name & Xing Chi. Rsquo calls himself a disciple and often asks Yulin to tell him about Buddhism. Later, on the recommendation of Han Pucong, in September of the sixteenth year of Shunzhi (1659), he met monk Mu in Beijing. Mu is good at poetry and calligraphy, and he hits it off very well. They feel that they have known each other for a long time. They often talk about the past and the present together, which are far apart. Besides talking about Buddhism, he also talked about poetry and calligraphy, stereotyped writing, astronomy and geography, classics of governing the country, people of the times and so on. Fu Lin spoke highly of his erudition.
Seeing that Fu Lin was in a good mood at that time, Mu Chenxiao advised him to "do nothing" and "don't think about anything". "But when it comes to big things and small things, don't guard against careless support and turn back afterwards." Fu Lin thought about his words and seemed to understand his meaning. In a word, since Fu Lin met these eminent monks, his personality and thoughts have undergone tremendous changes, and his temperament is also very strange.
One day in the middle of October in the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), Fu Lin suddenly announced that he would shave his head and become a monk. Regardless of anyone's dissuasion, he went out of Xiyuan to Wanshantang to shave his hair, which caused a sensation inside and outside the court. Why did Fu Lin do this?
In the 15th year of Shunzhi (1658), Fu Lin's fourth son, born in Dong Eshi, died before he was one year old. Fu Lin loves me, love my dog, and usually regards the emperor's four sons as the apple of his eye. The emperor's four sons were out of luck, Dong Hubei princess cried very dark, and Fu Lin was heartbroken. The ministers were afraid that the emperor would be too sad to hurt the dragon's health, and they all advised to put the national plan first. However, since then, Fu Lin has been in a bad mood, getting thinner and listless. He often stays with eminent monks. He is not as diligent as before in state affairs, but muddles along. He once said to monk Mu Chenlong, "I can't sleep with anyone anymore." Mu Chenxi said: "The emperor was reincarnated as a monk, so he did not forget the habits of Zen."
Fu Lin said seriously, "I think my predecessor was indeed a monk. Now every time I come to the temple, I see that the place where you live is simple and quiet, and I don't want to leave for a long time. " At this time, he is indifferent to his personal family life and the great cause of the country, and he is disheartened. He said to Mu with emotion: "Gold and silver treasures, wives and children are the most coveted lives, and they are unwilling to let go. As a monarch, I am rich all over the world and never care about treasure. I also feel like a cloud in the sky for my wife and children. I didn't care so much about getting together and leaving. If it weren't for the presence of the Queen Mother, I wouldn't be at ease for a while, and I would have become a monk with the old monk. " After hearing this, Mu felt that his idea was very dangerous, so he advised, "As a son of heaven, it is against Buddhism to focus only on personal practice and pursue the situation in quietism. Mahayana teaching method, Bodhisattva incarnates as a human emperor or butcher, so that it can keep the land, benefit all beings and carry forward Buddhism. It is not enough to practice by yourself. The role of the emperor and Zaifu is far greater than that of a monk, so the emperor must not have the idea of becoming a monk and ignore all beings in the world. " Fu Lin listened to Mu Chenlong and felt very reasonable, so he dismissed the idea of becoming a monk.
There are unexpected events in the sky, and people have unexpected events. In the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), on August 19th, Fu Lin's favorite Dong E Fei died. This was a fatal blow to Fu Lin, who was heartbroken and angry, tried to kill himself and left school for five days. After the death of the imperial concubine, he was like a different person, in a trance all day. Kings, officials and others inside and outside the imperial court are very worried about him and often enlighten and persuade him. But at this time, all the exhortations have been unable to impress his heart. He has no intention to deal with state affairs and is willing to listen to what you say. He spent all day with Yin Xisen, Lu An, Xiaoshan and other monks, talking about scriptures, and was completely addicted to Buddhism.
From the death of his beloved son to the death of his beloved princess, in this short period of two years, Fu Lin suffered a heavy blow, exhausted and desperate, and wholeheartedly sought relief from the Buddha. He persuaded Indion to shave. This is why Fu Lin suddenly announced his becoming a monk.
On this day, in the main hall of Wanshan Hall in Xiyuan, all the monks were dressed in vestments and lined up on both sides. Fu Lin knelt devoutly in front of the purlin, waiting for Inderson to shave his hair. Just as Inderson shaved off half his hair, he heard someone shouting "Stop!" Outside the temple. . Yu Linxian, the owner of Inding Xisen, appeared in front of everyone, followed by the Empress Dowager and Empress, and all the kings followed.
Yulin Xian sternly reprimanded Ding Xisen for his audacity and advised the emperor to change his mind and return to the palace temporarily. At first, Fu Lin just closed his eyes and kept silent. Yulin saw this situation, and he wanted all the monks to burn Indexisen alive, so as to force Fu Lin to return to the palace. Fu Lin was forced to return to the palace temporarily. 10 15, Fu Lin came to Wanshan Hall again and summoned Yu Linxian. At this time, Fu Lin was wearing royal clothes, but his head was bald. They smiled at each other. Fu Lin once again confessed to Yulin Xian that he wanted to become a monk. He said: "I think that in ancient times, only Ni Gu Mei abandoned the palace and became a positive result. Dharma was also the ancestor of the Zen master who gave his life to serve the country. I want to emulate them. What do you think? " Yulin Xian strongly advocated: "If the world law is used, the emperor should always live in his place, with the heart of the Virgin above and the inheritance of the people below." Efforts should be made to clarify the truth that Fu Lin should be emperor forever, so as to protect monasteries and promote Buddhism. Fu Lin listened to his master's advice and promised not to mention it again. At this point, the Fu Lin monk tonsure storm gradually subsided.
Two months later, on the second day of the first month of the eighteenth year of Shunzhi (16 1), Fu came to Benjamin Temple to see Wu, the internal supervisor, shave his head and become a monk. He felt unwell when he came back, and unfortunately he was infected with smallpox. The condition is getting worse. On the seventh day, he died in Yangxintang at the age of 24. Unfortunately, he was young and promising and died young.
Fu Lin believed in Buddhism all his life. He tried to become a monk several times, but failed. Before he died, he made a decree about his funeral. He said, "My ancestors made a fire bath. Now, I will pay attention to Zen, and I will try my best to torch French. If I get good grades and am satisfied with the law, I can win this position. If Monk Sen can arrive in a few days, the Dharma will be longer than the two temples, and I can change my life. " It means: "When I die, I will be cremated and held a ceremony according to the system of my ancestors. If Guo Shan and Longli can host, they will host. If Monk Indokhisen can arrive in a few days, he has a noble practice and had better wait for him to preside. "
Empress Dowager Cixi agreed to her son Fu Lin's last wish, waiting for Indy Sisson to preside over the cremation ceremony. On April 16, Indy arrived in Beijing day and night, and the next day was the centenary of Fu Lin's mourning. On April 17, the cremation ceremony of Fu Lin's body was held at Shouhuang Hall in Jingshan, presided over by Indy Sen. When Indy Sen saw the coffin, he thought of people and cried to the soul. When the emperor's soul ascended to heaven, he turned to the monk and said, "Did you see it? The emperor's face is wonderful, and there is light everywhere. Now it is above all of you, groundbreaking and very subtle. " It means that the emperor is a Buddha and has now ascended to heaven.
The French used by Inxisen when holding the torch for Fu Lin is: "Sakyamuni is nirvana, man and heaven are enlightened, the first emperor is cremated, and then, people will meet each other, and in front of the Palace of Eternal Life, the road of officials and horses." Then throw torches and cremate them. Fu Lin believed in Buddhism all his life, and after his death, he went to heaven according to Buddha.
