Yushu city, Jilin Province, located in the golden corn belt of the world, is an important commodity grain base in China. Known as "the first granary in the world", it has been rated as "the first grain-producing county in China" for many years. The establishment of yushu city Museum is a strategic consideration for the local government to carefully build the brand of "Jilin Agricultural Museum" around Jilin agricultural theme culture, making it a museum covering the whole province's agricultural culture and highlighting local agricultural characteristics, and has played a positive demonstration role in the construction of county (city) characteristic museums.
Architectural history
1990, the museum was changed from county to Yushu city museum. It belongs to Yushu City Cultural Bureau.
The predecessor of yushu city Museum is County Agricultural Exhibition Hall 1973, which was established in March. 1975 merged with the county cultural center and library at the beginning. May 1979, the county exhibition hall was restored and brought into the management of cultural relics system. 1982 was renamed Yushu County Museum.
Yushu Museum was built in 1973, with a total construction area of1200m2 and a construction area of1060m2, including 840m2 exhibition hall,100m2 cultural relics warehouse and120m2 office area.
Basic display
The basic exhibition and special exhibition of Yushu Museum are for tourists to visit. Since its establishment, more than 60 exhibitions have been held, including the exhibition of cultural relics unearthed in Yushu, the exhibition of achievements in socialist construction, the exhibition of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the exhibition of Lei Feng's deeds, the exhibition of rural women developing agriculture through science and technology, and the exhibition of photography, calligraphy and painting.
