Wang Tai (the second son and grandson of Emperor Taizong), whose real name is 6 19-653, is the fourth son of Emperor Taizong, his mother, his mother Shi, and his brothers Prince Li Chenggan and Prince Li Zhi. As the second son and grandson of Li Shimin of Emperor Taizong, he was born of the "Empress Wende" and was "extremely clever", while Emperor Taizong was "special and different". "
As soon as he was born, he was named Yidu King by his grandfather Tang Gaozu Li Yuan. In March of the following year (62 1), Li was named Wang Wei and King Zhu. As the second son of the King of Qin, Lee Tae's title in the future was originally the highest one. After Li Yuanba, Tang gaozu named him Wang Wei (not the heir of one product), which was a great favor to Li Shimin and his son.
In the second year of Zhenguan (628), Lee Tae, who was only nine years old, was renamed Yue Wang. Wang is Emperor Taizong and his favorite son. According to the usual practice, the prince will go to the fief when he is an adult and cannot stay in Gyeonggi for a long time. However, due to the preference of Emperor Taizong, Lee Tae chartered "no official".
Lee Tae, who is good at writing, good at fighting, fat, simple and honest, won the favor of Emperor Taizong. Because they like Lu so much, ministers remonstrated with him many times. Because his father, Emperor Taizong, loved him, it also encouraged his ambition to seize the throne. His inner world is rich and delicate, beautiful and evil. He is both a lovely and gratifying prince and a hateful and pathetic brother.
In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan (643), Prince Li Chenggan rebelled and Lee Tae was suspected of seeking a job. In order to save Li Chenggan, Lee Tae and Li Zhi's three sons, Emperor Taizong had to adopt an isolation policy, renamed Yang Shunwang and moved to Yunzhou Township. In the 21st year of Zhenguan (647), he became King Pu. After Emperor Gaozong ascended the throne, preferential treatment increased. Yonghui died in Yunxiang for three years, and Emperor Gaozong posthumously awarded him the title of Taiwei and Yongzhou Pastor, saying that he was respectful.
Looking at Lee Tae's life, it can be said that it is full of hardships. Although his position was slightly lower than that of his elder brother Li Chenggan, he was spoiled by his younger brother Li Zhi. More importantly, Lee Tae himself is brilliant, and history shows that he is "extremely clever", because he is not only very proficient in literature, but also has as many books as the Royal Library, and he is also good at appreciating calligraphy and painting.
Lee Tae's Kuozhi is widely quoted, which preserves many precious materials in the geography books of the Six Dynasties and has a far-reaching influence on later generations. The creation of this new geography book also initiated the style of general records in Tang and Song Dynasties. After Lee Tae's death, he left 20 volumes of collected works, but unfortunately these collected works have been lost so far.
Why didn't Li Shimin finally make Lee Tae emperor? Lee Tae, the fourth son of Emperor Taizong, was named Wang Wei, who loved literature and art. Li Shimin therefore set up a literature museum in his palace. You can introduce learned people at will. Lee Tae listened to the officials, learned the methods of the ancient plain and Meng Changjun, and raised many literati to write books and stand up. So I wrote a letter to Emperor Taizong and got permission. It took me several years to compile a 550-article Parenthesis. Li Shimin also likes this son very much. After the Book of Brackets was written, Li Shimin ordered people to hide it in a secret cabinet and give it to Lee Tae with tens of thousands of brocade. Lee Tae has a big waist, so he can sit in a sedan chair. After that, Li Shimin personally visited Yankang, Di Fang, where Li Tai Wang Mi was located. I was in a good mood, so I wrote a letter to pardon the prisoner who committed the capital crime in Chang 'an. Exempt the first year rent of salt kang houses, and distribute clothes and silk to Wang Fu officials according to grades.
However, Li Shimin's overindulgence has also aroused the concern of ministers. Ascending to the throne one after another means that the emperor treats illegitimate children more than the prince, which is easy to cause speculation. And if you spoil a person too much, it is easy to spoil his behavior, and it will also cause dissatisfaction and jealousy of other sons. From the past to the present, emperors have spoiled their grandchildren too much in history, and they have no good end. This caught Li Shimin's attention, so he controlled it a little.
At that time, Crown Prince Li Chenggan could not walk, and Lee Tae wanted to take his place. So he made friends with court officials and attached himself to his cronies. Li Chenggan was afraid, privately calling himself Lee Tae Wang Fu, and wrote to the emperor. At first glance, Li Shimin accused Lee Tae of committing a crime. So I immediately went to the person who wrote this book, but there was no trace. Soon Li Chenggan was really abolished, and some people wanted to make Lee Tae a prince. Li Shimin also wants to establish Lee Tae privately. Sun Chang is infinite, on the other hand, Li Zhi and Jin Wang must be established. At this time, a stone appeared in Taiyuan, engraved with the words "governing everything". It means "Long live Li Zhi and good luck". Li Shimin once again moved the idea of establishing Li Zhi. (Because Taiyuan is the birthplace of Li Tang, the ancients were superstitious about latitude, and they always had some awe of inexplicable astronomical phenomena and figures. When Lee Tae knew this trend, he looked for an opportunity to intimidate Li Zhi: "You have a good relationship with Li Yuanchang, so you won't be like him, will you?" Li Yuanchang, a confidant of Li Chenggan, was first killed for treason. Li Zhi looks depressed all day. Li Shimin is very strange. After asking Li Zhi to explain why, Li Shimin had a better opinion. Later, I called Li Chenggan and asked him why he rebelled. The worthless prince said, "I am a prince. What more can I ask for?" Because of Lee Tae's intention, he and some court ministers sought self-protection. Therefore, some bad guys took the opportunity to make ministers do some bad things. If Lee Tae becomes a prince, it will only make his plan successful. "
Emperor Taizong Li Shimin said, "Yes, if Lee Tae is established. A prince can get it by trickery. Let Li be the prince, then Li Chenggan and Li Zhi will die; Prince Li Zhili, Lee Tae and Li Chenggan are all good. " So he snubbed Lee Tae, and at the same time wrote: "In the future, the prince has no virtue, and if the princes want to take his place, both sides should abandon him. The decree was promulgated. " However, Li Shimin still had misgivings and said to Sun Changmowgli, "Qi Huangong advised me to make pheasant slave a prince. A pheasant slave has different opinions, and a wise man has different opinions. (The ability to govern the country is not bold enough) will not worry the country? " Pheasant slave is the nickname of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi.
Lee Tae was made king of Yang Shun and lived in Yun Xiang, Zhou Jun. Li Shimin took the paper written on the Lee Tae and said to the people around him, "Is Lee Tae a talented person with beautiful words?" I miss the time when Lee Tae didn't stop. But for the sake of my country, I sent him to live outside. Keep him and Li Chenggan safe! "
Lee Tae died in Xunxiang at the age of 35. Give the title of Qiu, you Zhou Mu.
