The "Imperial Seal of the Kingdom" was originally a royal seal carved by Prime Minister Li Si with a "harmonious jade" after Qin unified China. Everything is done by Han Feizi and He Shi: In the Spring and Autumn Period, Bian He, a Chu, saw a phoenix fall on a piece of bluestone in Jingshan. At that time, people thought that the phoenix bird did not fall into a land without treasure. So Bian He decided that there was a treasure in the bluestone, so he presented the stone to King Li of Chu. The jade worker said it was just a stone, but King Li thought Bian He was deceiving you, so he gouged out his left foot. After King Wu acceded to the throne, Bian He offered it again. The jade worker still said it was a stone, and King Wu was furious, so he gouged out his right foot. Later, King Wen acceded to the throne, and Bian He wept bitterly under Jingshan with bluestone in his arms. King Wen sent people to understand the situation and ordered good workers to carve bluestone and get a rare jade. To commemorate Bian He's experience, this jade is called "He Shi Bi". Since then, it has been integrated into the ancient history of China and experienced a series of joys and sorrows.
"He Shibi" disappeared mysteriously for the first time after 4 years. At the time of the Warring States Period, Chu Weiwang gave this treasure to Zhaoyang, the prime minister. Zhaoyang once gave a big banquet to the guests, and handed it to them for appreciation during the dinner. Unexpectedly, when the banquet was over, the treasure was missing. Fifty years later, this stone suddenly appeared in King Huiwen Zhao's palace. Qin Zhaoxiang, the king, heard of it, and was willing to exchange fifteen cities for "Harmony". Qin is strong and Zhao is weak, so Zhao had to send Lin Xiangru to serve Qin. Because of Wu Qin's sincerity, Lin Xiangru earned Qin Jun's wisdom, and sent people to secretly bring Bi back to Zhao State, and performed a much-told story of "returning to Zhao in perfect condition". (Biography of Historical Records, Lian Po and Lin Xiangru) After 6 years, Zhao was destroyed by Qin, and this treasure was returned to Qin. Qin Shihuang ordered Li Si, the prime minister, to carve the characters "I was ordered by heaven to live forever" on it, and "He Shibi" was transformed into a "national decree". From then on, the feudal dynasty of China took the winner of this seal as its orthodoxy, and "passing the national seal" became the treasure coveted by all aspirants.
The "Imperial Seal of the State" was mysteriously disappeared for the second time in Qin Dynasty. After Qin unified China, the first emperor often toured the world. In the first 219 years, Qin Shihuang's dragon boat crossed Dongting Lake, and the boat was not allowed to go in a big storm. The first emperor was ordered to throw a "national decree" in the lake to worship the gods. It seems that this seal will sink to the bottom of the lake forever. Who knows that eight years later, when returning to Beijing on a cruise, someone on Huayin Road presented this seal to Qin Shihuang. ("Historical Records of the First Qin Emperor") This matter is true and false, and it has become a mystery.
At the end of Qin Dynasty, there was chaos in the world. Pei Gong Liu Bang, the director of Sishui Pavilion, entered Xianyang first, accepted the surrender of Zi Ying, the king of Qin, and Zi Ying presented a "national decree". Since then, this seal has belonged to Han. The emperors of the Han dynasty passed down from generation to generation, and all took this seal as the token of the emperor (that is, the certificate). At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Wang Mang usurped the Han Dynasty and demanded this seal from his aunt and the Queen Mother of Han Dynasty. The Queen Mother angrily threw it on the ground, damaging its corner, and Wang Mang set it with gold. Guangwu Emperor Liu Xiu established the Eastern Han regime, and this seal was returned to the Han Dynasty. (Records of Hanshu)
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the "Chuan Guo Yu Xi" disappeared for the third time. He Jin murdered the eunuch's chaos, and Emperor Shao of Han took refuge in the palace. After returning to the palace, he searched everywhere for this seal. Soon, the governors of 18 towns begged Dong Zhuo to invade Luoyang, and the imperial secretary who was killed by Sun Jian, the prefect of Changsha, was found this seal. Since then, the "national decree" has been returned to Sun Jian. After Sun Jian died, his son Sun Ce used this seal as collateral to borrow soldiers from Yuan Shu. This seal belongs to Yuan Shu, which inspired Yuan Shu to dream of being an emperor in broad daylight. Soon, Yuan Shu was defeated and the seal was returned to Cao Cao. The three kingdoms returned to Jin, and the seal subsequently returned to the Western Jin. After the cruelty and blood of the five lakes and sixteen countries, this seal belongs to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. ("Book of Jin") Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen successively held it for a short time, and Chen was destroyed in Sui, and this seal was returned to Sui. In the chaos at the end of Sui Dynasty, the high-impedance Li Yuan and his son took advantage of the chaos to establish the Tang Dynasty, and the "Imperial Seal" was also included in the Li Tang Palace. Li Yuan changed the "seal" to "treasure", and "passing on the national treasure" has since become a token handed down from generation to generation in the Tang Dynasty. (Southern History, Book of the New Tang Dynasty)
During the Five Dynasties, the "Chuan Guo Yu Xi" disappeared mysteriously for the fourth time. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the world was in turmoil, and the later Liang Dynasty, the later Tang Dynasty, the later Jin Dynasty, the later Han Dynasty, and the later Zhou Dynasty were founded one after another, and the "national decree" once again suffered from the chaos of the world. In the winter of 936 A.D., Emperor Li Congke of the late Tang Dynasty was besieged by soldiers of the late Jin Dynasty, and Li Congke and his empresses set themselves on fire in Tianxing Building and died. It is said that Li Congke was carrying a "national decree" with him. However, after the fire, people did not see this seal from the ashes, and even a stone with a slightly similar shape was not found. ("History of the New Five Dynasties") Is it really "crash and burn" and never die?
Since then, the "Imperial Seal" has disappeared from the historical records of China. Is it still in this world? Will it ever see the light of day again? At least for now, this is a mystery ...
