Starting from the side is really the first key to carrying a pen. It is the first key, of course, the first is in time order. Starting a pen determines the writing style of stippling, and also determines the form and quality of stippling. If you can't get through this, nothing will happen in the future. When the flank is swept away and the pen tip is opened, the stippling written becomes the form of "face", which can be called stippling, otherwise it can only become "line". The word "line" actually violates the purpose of calligraphy. People who want to use the word "line" instead of "stippling" can almost say that they don't understand calligraphy. The so-called pen front refers to Ni Sumen's "On Calligraphy" saying: "The pen must be raised in the hair, not restrained, but it will never talk to itself."
If you want to write flexibly, first you need to open the pen tip to touch the paper, not the pen belly to touch the paper. This is the most basic requirement of the center.
Yang Shoujing's "Notes on Posts" said: "Generally speaking, the calligraphy of the Six Dynasties was dominated by the lateral front. The so-called hidden front is not the front in the painting, but the cover is like a cone painting sand, such as Yin Yinni, broken hair and leakage marks. " The idea of future generations seeking the Tibetan front cannot be created with this as the center. His theory seems difficult to distinguish, and those who learn his methods will have poor books. Regardless of others, try to see the two kings. Is there a problem? On the other hand, it opens and closes in front of the side, with yin and yang, back, turning point, weight, ups and downs and pauses, which are precious to the ancients and used by the author. If the front is in the painting, it's letters, and there's nothing you can do, so you can penetrate the back of the paper! And can there be a miracle? He emphasized that the hidden front does not mean "the front is in the painting" (accordingly, "the middle" is the center); At the same time, it is pointed out that both kings are sidelined.
Whether stippling can be divided, whether stippling can be separated, walked and looked at, is the touchstone of ancient books, books with laws, or books without laws.
