Xi Zhongwen, with the courtesy name Kuizhang and the nickname Huabei, was born in Gushi, Henan in 1945. He has successively served as a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, executive director of the Henan Calligraphers Association, deputy director and secretary-general of the Academic Committee, distinguished calligrapher and art critic of the Henan Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and part-time professor of Xinyang Normal University. His calligraphy works have been selected into major national exhibitions many times.
