Dudu, also known as Bodu. The year of birth and death is unknown. He lived during the reign of Emperor Zhang of the Han Dynasty and served as Prime Minister. Zhang Zhi, known as the "Sage of Grass", once said that his calligraphy was "not as good as Cui and Du". The Du mentioned here is Du Du. Cui is Cui Yuan, another famous Zhangcao calligrapher in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and Cui Yuan was a student of Du Du.
Du Du’s calligraphy cannot be seen today, but according to Wei Dan, a native of the Wei Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms who saw his handwriting, he is “a hero with strong bones but thin calligraphy and painting, like a frost forest without leaves. The waterfall is flying" (quoted in Zhang Huaiguan's "Shu Duan"). Jin Weiheng's "Four Styles of Calligraphy" said: "Qi Prime Minister Du Duhao was good at cursive calligraphy. His character "sha" was very safe and his calligraphy was thin." Yu Jianwu's "Shupin" of Liang Dynasty listed his calligraphy as among the best, and Tang Dynasty Zhang Huaiguan's "Shuguan" listed his chapter cursive as a divine product, and cursive calligrapher Huai Su called his chapter cursive "naturally number one".
