Zhang Xiaoxiang's ci inherited the bold style of Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, and had a great influence on the formation of patriotic ci style in later generations.

On the road of officialdom, Zhang Xiaoxiang got one promotion after another. He has served as the official of Zhongshu Sheren, the directly affiliated bachelor's college, the founder of Jiankang, and the peace envoy of Jinghu North Road. Later, he was fired twice for opposing gold. When I was a local official, I looked at the sufferings of people's livelihood and was very sympathetic.

Perhaps it was his experience that made him worry about the country and the people, which fully showed his praise for the fighting life in the Northern Expedition and his desire to make contributions, and expressed his dissatisfaction with the policy of knowing and discussing at that time.
