The representatives of Lu Wang Xinxue include Lu Jiuyuan and Wang Shouren.
"Lu Wang Xin Xue" is the abbreviation of the Xin Xue developed by Confucian scholars Lu Jiuyuan and Wang Shouren, or directly called "Xin Xue"; or it is specifically called the Xin Xue of a certain philosopher, such as Wang Shouren's "Xin Xue" "Yangming's Theory of Mind".
It is generally believed that the Lu Wang Xinxue originated from Mencius, flourished in Cheng Hao, was carried forward by Lu Jiuyuan, and was completed by Wang Shouren. Although Lu Wang's Xinxue and Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism sometimes belong to the Neo-Confucian school of the Song and Ming Dynasties, they often have differences. Lu-Wang's Xinxue is often considered to be the "Gexin School" in Confucianism, while Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism is the "Gewu School".
Lu Jiuyuan advocated:
Lu explained the word "universe" as: "The affairs within the universe are the affairs within one's own division; the affairs within one's own division are the affairs within the universe."
Lu "advocates that 'the universe is my heart, and my heart is the universe', and also advocates the theory that 'the heart is reason'. He asserts that the principles of nature, human principles, and physics are only in my heart. People share this mind, and they have the same mind. This is true throughout the ages. " "I believe that the main method of studying is to "invent the original intention", and there is no need to read more. He claimed that he "got it from his mind by reading Mencius", but it is not completely the same as Mencius, and the inheritance relationship with Zen is also very obvious. Lu Jiuyuan said that "Although he does not read the Buddhist scriptures, he has tasted the Shurangama, Yuanjue, and Vimalakirti Sutras." In fact, he is consistent with Zen in many aspects. In terms of ontology, the heart is the main body, and in terms of mind-nature theory, the heart is dominant. In terms of cultivation theory, both are irrational. In terms of realm view, the Holy Buddha is essentially the same. ?
Wang Shouren advocates:
Yangmingology, also commonly known as Wangxue and Xinxue, is a Confucian Neo-Confucianism developed by the great Confucian Wang Yangming of the Ming Dynasty. Neo-Confucianism, which has been popular since the Yuan Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty, emphasizes studying things to understand the principles. Wang Yangming emphasized that "the heart is the principle", that is, the highest principles do not need to be sought from outside, but can be obtained from one's own heart.
Wang Yangming’s ideas were inherited and carried forward by his students. Among them, the Taizhou School (also known as the left-wing Wang School) pushed his views to an extreme, believing that since reason exists in the heart, “people People can become Yao and Shun." "Although the world is big, if you have a good intention and a conscience, even ordinary people can become saints." Even ordinary people who are not scholars can become saints.
The development of Wang Xue's view that "the heart is reason" also influenced the positive ideas and views on eroticism in the late Ming Dynasty. Since the heart is the principle, human desires and natural principles are no longer in opposition as Zhu Xi believed, and therefore can be accepted positively. Representatives of this idea are Li Zhi, Xu Jie, Zhang Juzheng, and Tang Shunzhi.
