Cao E is a famous martyr in the history of China. Her deeds have touched the world for thousands of years, and the monument built for her is called Cao E Monument. In memory of her, there is another river called Cao 'e River.
Cao E was born in Shangyu, Huiji, Eastern Han Dynasty. Her father Cao Xu is a witch in the village. Being able to clap, sing and see God makes God happy. Cao Xu sailed in Shunjiang and met Wu Jun, the tide god (Wu Zixu, as a loyal minister, was killed by Fu Cha, the king of Wu, and his head was thrown into the East China Sea to become the tide god), and he was submerged. Only fourteen-year-old Cao E is looking for her father on the river. In order to prevent the fish from eating her father's body, she threw the melon into the water and said that if her father were here, the melon would sink. After 17 days of searching, she died in despair, and three days later she was floating on the river with her father's body in her arms. This extremely high filial piety touched the world and commemorated her in various ways.
