Old Town of Lijiang is bordered by Xiangshan and Jinhongshan in the north and Lion Mountain in the west. The southeast is connected with Pingchuan Mountain. The east wind is Xu Lai in spring, and the south wind is smooth in summer. In winter, the northwest cold wind blocks it, which is warm in spring and cool in summer. At the foot of Xiangshan Mountain, Longtan spring water flows into the ancient city, and then it is divided into three parts, crossing the street and detouring, entering the wall and wearing houses, forming a beautiful scene of the main street along the river and the alley facing the canal. Taking the three mountains as the screen, the three rivers run through the city, and the water as the pulse, it is natural to follow the trend. It is this site selection and layout feature that makes Old Town of Lijiang look like a mountain city and a water town, and is known as "Gusu on the Plateau" and "Venice of the East".
