Chinese Peking Opera is the quintessence of China, with a history of 2 years. The name of Peking Opera first appeared in the Shenbao of the Peking Opera Wu Zetian in the second year of Guangxu calligraphy in Qing Dynasty. In history, it used to be called Pihuang, Erhuang, Huangqiang, Beijing Opera, Peking Opera, Pingju and National Opera. After the four Hui classes entered Beijing in the fifty-five years of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty (179), they merged with Kunqu Opera, Han Opera, Yiyang and Luantan in Beijing for fifty or sixty years. Its rich repertoire, the number of performing artists, the number of troupes, the number of audiences and the deep influence are the highest in the country. Beijing opera is a comprehensive performing art.
4. Calligraphy
Calligraphy is the art of writing Chinese characters. In the long history of evolution and development, Chinese characters, on the one hand, play an important social role in the exchange of ideas and cultural inheritance, on the other hand, they have formed a unique plastic arts. Although the consciousness of calligraphy art didn't happen until the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, calligraphy art should be at the same time as the emergence of Chinese characters. The earliest materials of ancient Chinese characters in China, which are recognized by academic circles, are Oracle Bone Inscriptions and bronze inscriptions in the middle and late Shang Dynasty (about 14th to 11th century). From the perspective of calligraphy, these earliest Chinese characters already have many factors of the beauty of calligraphy form, such as the beauty of lines, the beauty of symmetry and variation of single character modeling, the beauty of composition and style.
