"Records of Yanqing Prefecture" records: "There are two roads at the fork of the road, all the way to Huailaiwei, all the way to Fu Xuan (now Xuanhua) as the west road, all the way to Yanqing Prefecture, Yongningwei and the land of the four seas as the north road." Hence the name "Three Forks". According to the archaeological report, in the 30th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (155 1), the construction of the fork road city began. After more than 30 years of construction, the whole city is an irregular rectangle with a slightly bulging middle and two ends built slightly according to the mountain. The northern part of the city is built in half of Yamanoe. The whole city is 5 10 meters long from east to west and 185 meters long from north to south, showing a boat shape. The total area of the city is about 83,000 square meters, and the wall is 8.5 meters high. It is made of Shi Zhuan, lime and clay. There are horse paths in the city, cribs, observation holes and shooting holes on the outer wall, and two beacon towers on the south wall. The construction of the city wall can be divided into two periods. In the early stage, rammed earth was used inside, and lime was added outside the stone. In the later period, it was built with strips of stones and bricks outside the original city wall.
