Obviously, I haven't learned traditional Chinese characters. Why can I recognize them at a glance?

Traditional Chinese characters are unfamiliar and familiar to many mainlanders in China. You seem to wonder why you feel deja vu without learning it, but you can see it at a glance if you can't write it. In fact, traditional Chinese characters have been replaced in recent decades. We used to use them all the time. Traditional Chinese characters have their special aesthetic feeling and significance, including various cultural ethics of China. Even though it has been replaced in China, it is still used in Hongkong, Taiwan Province Province and other places, and this vein has been preserved. This seemingly unfamiliar role still exists in every corner of our lives, which exerts a subtle influence on us and is also the reason why we recognize it without learning.

The most obvious and common sense is that our calligraphy is still written in traditional Chinese characters. For example, Spring Festival couplets and some inscriptions posted by every household during the Spring Festival are written in traditional Chinese characters. These cultures have left a deep impression on us since childhood. You think we don't study systematically, but in fact, the older generation basically watches. Our understanding of traditional Chinese characters often comes from the teaching of our elders. When we look at the words we can't understand on the Spring Festival couplets, we will definitely ask what they mean, and then we will understand the history of traditional Chinese characters. We may forget these learning processes, but they are actually hidden in our minds.

The second reason is that some common traditional Chinese characters are similar to simplified Chinese characters, which can be recognized naturally when exposed, such as love and love, width and width. Although we haven't learned it, we can often "guess" it. Of course, some uncommon traditional Chinese characters cannot be identified in this way. In fact, the font of traditional Chinese characters is much larger than you think, and you will feel that the proportion you read is very small. When you are exposed enough, you will solve the mystery.

Similar to the above reasons, I can recognize traditional Chinese characters without writing. Simplified Chinese characters may simplify our writing, but it has a long history and can be said to be the foundation of Chinese culture, inheriting the changes of Chinese culture. I hope more people can understand the history and meaning of traditional Chinese characters on the basis of recognition.
