14. Feynman reading and word-for-word reading

Nowadays, network knowledge payment is becoming more and more popular, and the barrier between people is no longer the threshold for acquiring knowledge, but the digestion and absorption of knowledge.

I signed up for many online courses myself. Among the same group of students, some learn well and some learn poorly. This is not only a question of self-discipline, but also a question of learning ability, to be precise, self-learning ability.

Yes, although it is a paid course, we still consider testing our self-study ability. Because the feedback given by online courses is limited after all, and the interaction with tutors is limited. A person's self-study ability often determines life and death.

Among the self-study abilities, reading ability is particularly important, even crucial, because all knowledge comes from reading comprehension and then action.

There is a very important method in reading ability called Feynman reading method and word-for-word reading method.

Feynman's reading method is to read a book from beginning to end until it is completely incomprehensible, and then read it from the beginning. This method is effective through personal test.

Up to now, I find that I still can't get rid of some thoughts of my school days, such as looking for standard answers, thinking that once there is a problem, the teacher will help me solve it. Until two days ago, I met something I really wanted to learn, but I really couldn't find anyone to ask. So, I can only read the original text over and over again, and then a miracle happened. After reading it, I began to understand it slowly.

Of course, in this process, another method is actually used, that is, reading word by word. Modern people always advocate efficiency and fast reading, but when they encounter knowledge they don't understand, they have to return to the most primitive and effective state, that is, reading word by word or even reading with their fingers. Real masters don't write nonsense, but what we have to do is to humbly respect every tiny output of the author.

The reading experience brought by Feynman's reading method and word-for-word reading method makes me more confident in my study and more awed by my knowledge.

Go, don't be afraid!
