Lin Changmin’s family is a famous family in Fujian, and his ancestors have been officials for generations. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, this family produced many figures who sacrificed their lives for the revolution, and they can be called heroes. Three of the seventy-two Huanghuagang martyrs who died in the Guangzhou Uprising were from the Lin family, namely Lin Changmin's three cousins, Lin Juemin, Lin Yinmin, and Lin Wen. Lin Changmin joined the revolution earlier than his three cousins. In 1902, Lin Changmin began to engage in revolutionary activities while studying at Waseda University in Japan.
