In the middle section of the Li River 29 kilometers away from downtown Guilin, there is an ancient cave with a thousand-year human history called "Guanyan". It was named because its mountain shape resembles the purple gold crown of an ancient emperor. Throughout the ages, countless dignitaries and poets have come to visit. In April 1637 AD, Xu Xiake, a famous explorer in Chinese history, came here because of its reputation. He made an in-depth and detailed inspection of the Guanyan Cave for two years, and recorded it in detail in his travel notes. It was recognized by later generations as the first cave in Guanyan. A caver. Guanyan Cave's exquisite carvings and various postures are amazing and breathtaking. There are also sightseeing elevators, canyon trains, underground river canoe and other tourist routes, which are full of fun. Outside the cave is the uncanny charm of the scenic spot. From the entrance of Guanyan Water Cave, you can glimpse the scenery on the other side of the Li River, and you can vaguely see the "four wonders" of Guilin's landscape - green mountains, beautiful water, strange caves, and beautiful rocks. It is really like a "match made by heaven". No wonder there are people who "want to be a Guilin person. I don’t want to be a god!”
The Lijiang River is a tributary of the Pearl River, starting from Xing'an in the north and reaching Wuzhou in the south. Among them, the section from Guilin to Yangshuo has the best scenery, totaling 83 kilometers. Most of the mountain peaks here rise from the flat ground, with clear water around the Lijiang River. Sometimes the water is shallow and fast, like thousands of horses galloping; sometimes it is clear and gentle, and you can see countless swimming fish. The strange peaks, giant walls, waterfalls, lush bamboos, houses and fishing villages on both sides of the strait are projected onto the clear river, making it dazzling and like entering a fairyland.
When Reed Flute Cave was opened in 1962, because there were only a few caves open for tourism in the country at that time, and Reed Flute Cave was relatively magnificent, it suddenly became famous all over the world and was known as the "Palace of Nature's Art" ".
The Reed Flute Cave is 240 meters deep. The cave has many twists and turns, so the tour route is 500 meters long. There are a large number of stone milk, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains and stone flowers in the cave, which naturally form natural scenery that can be personified and simulated. People installed lights in the cave, built tourist roads, and named different scenic spots according to their shapes and characteristics. The tour guides compiled a set of commentary accordingly.
For example, after entering the cave, there is a stalactite, which is shaped like a lion. The rocks in the distance look like a group of small lions, so this scenic spot is called "Shiling Zhaoxia". Going forward, there is a white stalactite, which looks like a waterfall falling from a high mountain, so it is called "Gaoxia Waterfall". There are more than 30 attractions in one ***.
Liuhou Park, located in the center of Liuzhou, was built in memory of Liu Zongyuan, a great writer in the Tang Dynasty who served as the governor of Liuzhou. It covers a regional area of ??15.52 hectares. It was first built in 1906. "Liuhou Temple" is simple and majestic, with imitation bronze statues of Liu Zongyuan and his subordinates. It displays cultural relics, charts, calligraphy and paintings, and introduces Liu Zongyuan's life and historical achievements in detail. There is also "Dragon City Stone Carvings" written by Liu Zongyuan in the temple. There are more than 40 inscriptions such as "Lizi Stele written by Su Shi", which are popular among people. There are also historical sites such as "Liu Zongyuan's Tomb", "Luochi", "Ganxiang Pavilion", landscape bonsai garden, zoo, children's paradise and so on. Artificial lakes, pavilions, bridges, corridors and other garden facilities are one of the main tourist attractions in Guangxi.
Seven Star Park is the largest and most beautiful comprehensive park in Guilin on the east bank of the Lijiang River. Looking east, you can see seven peaks arranged like the Big Dipper, which are called Qixing Mountain.
The four northern peaks of Doukui are called Putuo Mountain. The three southern peaks of Douban form the Crescent Mountain, which brings together the essence of mountains, water, caves, rocks, gardens, trees, and cultural relics. The main landscapes include Huaqiao, Tuofeng, Putuo Mountain, Qixingyan, Crescent Mountain, and Guihai. The Forest of Steles is a must-visit place for people.
The Flower Bridge spans the confluence of the Lingjian River and the Xiaodong River. It is the western entrance to Qixing Park. It was originally named Jiaxi Bridge and was originally built in 1978. It was rebuilt twice during the Song Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty, and seven holes of a dry bridge were added to the west of the bridge for flood drainage during the flood season. The bridge was located on the outskirts of the city at that time. Every spring and summer, flowers bloomed and fallen flowers bloomed, and "half of the stream was filled with water." "Stream Flowers", so it is called the Flower Bridge. The current bridge is a four-hole bridge rebuilt in 1965 according to the original style. It is built of bluestone, with white marble railings. The top of the bridge is covered with glazed tiles, which can provide visitors with shelter from the rain and view the scenery. Looking at the Flower Bridge from a distance , the bridge hole and reflection are like four bright moons reflected in the river. When viewing the scenery on the bridge, you can see the beautiful and elegant water and mountains. "The four bright moons are accompanied by hibiscus, half entering the Chengjiang River and half turning into a rainbow." The flowers are blooming, the moon is full, and the mood is lingering. The long pavilion is just like the Guanghan Palace. "This poem is about the scene of "flower bridge reflecting the moon".
Putuo Mountain is located in the center of Qixing Park and consists of four peaks: Tianshu, Tianxuan, Tianji and Tianquan in the northwest of Qixing Mountain. Because there is a cave on the mountain dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, it is called Putuo Mountain according to Buddhist custom. There is Yuanfeng Cave at the western foot of the mountain. It is hot in the middle of summer, but the wind is cool here. Therefore, the poet Yu Anqi of the Ming Dynasty wrote a poem to praise: "The cave is deep. On the Yin cliff, the cold is endless. The hanging spring stones hang down, and the hot moon blows into snow. "Not far from here along the sweet-scented osmanthus boulevard to the north is Putuo Gate. There is a stele-protecting pavilion on the right side of the gate. There are two upright stele stones. One is written "Xiaoyao Tower", which was written by Yan Zhenqing, a great calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty. The back of the stele is written by the Song Dynasty Li Yanbi's "Xiannan Tower" and another monument is "Reconstruction of the Guangxi Provincial City" by Bao Yu in the Ming Dynasty. Go up the mountain from Putuo Gate, enter the "Chaochen Jingjing" on the left, and pass by Yongcui Pavilion and Xiao Penglai Corridor. Putuo Stone Forest. This is a place with majestic rocks and rugged stone bones. Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty Li Shimin once sent Li Jing here to take the auspicious stone back to Chang'an and carve the "Jiucheng Palace Phenolquan Inscription" monument here. Li Jing once built the Qinglin Temple here. According to legend, the three words "Qinglin Temple" were inscribed by Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty. There is Putuo Tower next to the mountain. You can overlook the scenery of Guilin from the tower. There is Guanyin Cave behind the tower, which is the place where Guanyin Bodhisattva is worshiped. Next to Putuo Tower is Putuo Rock. The left wall of the rock is engraved with the seal script "Bixuyan". This is a mistake made by Taoist Pan Changjing in the Ming Dynasty. Bixuyan is Qixingyan. These three characters should be at the entrance of Qixingyan, but Taoist Pan was deaf and could not hear clearly. Carved here. Pass through Putuo Rock and climb to the Xuanwu Pavilion. There is a relief of "turtle and snake in one" on the cliff outside the left window of the pavilion, which is a masterpiece of Mount Putuo. There is a star-picking pavilion on Tianji Peak. When you climb the pavilion and look around, you can see the magnificent scenery of "Thousands of peaks standing in the wild, one river embracing the city" written by the great poet Liu Kezhuang of the Song Dynasty.
" "Hump" is the abbreviation of "Luotuo Mountain". It was named because it resembles a camel squatting on the ground, and because it resembles an ancient wine pot, it is also called Hushan. In the late Ming Dynasty, Lei Mingchun, a famous scholar in the south of the Yangtze River, lived in seclusion to escape the war. Here, he planted peach blossoms and wrote books about it. He liked to drink, and he would scream when he was drunk. He called himself "The Wine Man" and was buried at the foot of the mountain. The mountain is engraved with "The Tomb of the Thunder Wine Man". Every spring, the peach blossoms are red. All over, it seems that Luotuo Mountain is covered with red clouds, and the scenery is extremely beautiful. Therefore, the ancients called it "Hushan Chixia", that is, Camelback Red Clouds.
This is one of the sixteen scenic spots in Guilin. When tourists come here, they must take photos with them to commemorate their visit. The mountain is behind Mount Putuo, with a zoo, bonsai field, flower garden and teahouse on both sides.
Crescent Mountain is composed of three peaks: Yuheng, Kaiyang and Yaoguang of Qixing Mountain. It is named because there is a rock on the mountainside that looks like a crescent moon from a distance. Because there are Longyin Cave and Longyin Rock in the mountain, it is also called Longyin Mountain. On the mountainside in the north of the mountain, there is a sword hilt stone. It stands alone, straight and steep, several meters high, and looks like a sword hilt. Walk southwest along the trail at the foot of the mountain and pass the Jade Rabbit Rock to reach the Moon Pavilion. Watching the flower bridge reflected in the clear Xiaodong River here is very poetic. A few dozen meters further forward is the Crescent Rock. It faces the Xiaodong River in front and is surrounded by cliffs on three sides. The flowers are in full bloom and the stone milk is hanging upside down. There used to be a Crescent Moon Temple here, but it was rebuilt into a quaint and quiet two-story pavilion in 1963, named Xiao Guanghan. On the right side, there is a Jinjiang Pavilion near the mountain and cliff. The view from the pavilion is charming. After leaving the pavilion and heading south along the mountain, you will reach Danguiyan. It is named after the legend that there used to be a Dangui tree nearby. This is a site from the Neolithic Age, about 6,000 to 10,000 years old, and there are still relics of shells embedded in the rock walls.
Not far from Danguiyan is Longyin Cave. The cave is transparent from north to south. One wall of the cave is inserted into the Xiaodong River. There is a winding stone trough on the top of the cave. The uniform denudation marks on the trough wall look very much like dragon scales. The entire stone trough is like the traces left by a dragon after it flew away, so people call it Longyin Cave. According to legend, this is the place where the dragon sleeps, with its head to the south and tail to the west. After the dragon flew away, people inscribed on the stone wall the words "Relics of the Dragon" and "Flying Through Its Skin". Zhou Jinlong, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, wrote: "It has been flying for thousands of years, but a few dragon scales still exist." Not far from Longyin Cave is Longyin Rock. It is said that this is also the place where the old dragon lives. Because the cave looks like a cloth bag, it is also called Budai Rock. . It is bright and spacious, pleasant in winter and summer, and is a good place to visit. The biggest feature of Longyin Rock is that there are many inscriptions on it. People in the Ming Dynasty said that it has "no perfect stone on the wall". Among the more than 100 stone carvings, Song Dynasty carvings account for more than half, the most famous of which is the "Yuanyou Party Membership Stele". In the fourth year of Chongning in the Song Dynasty (AD 1105), Prime Minister Cai Jing listed Sima Guang, Su Shi and other 309 people as traitors. Song Huizong ordered the whole country to carve stones and erect steles. The following year, he issued an edict to destroy them all. This piece of Longyin Rock was re-engraved 93 years later by Liang Lu, the great-grandson of Liang Taozhi, who was listed as one of the Yuan Party members. It is the only complete piece in the country. On the right side of the stele is the "Inscription of the Guanyuan Party Members" written by Kang Youwei in the late Qing Dynasty. In addition, there are also "Ode to the Five Lords" written by Huang Tingjian of the Song Dynasty by Yan Tingzhi, a poet of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and stone carvings of poems by Mi Fu, Cheng Jiehe and others from the Song Dynasty. In 1964, the "Guihai Forest of Steles" exhibition hall was built at Longyin Yankou, which displays rubbings of stele inscriptions scattered throughout the city for people to appreciate, and is praised as the "forest of ancient calligraphy art."
Elephant Trunk Mountain is located on the right bank of the Li River in the southeast of Guilin City. The mountain is named because it resembles an elephant standing on the riverside with its trunk extended to suck water. It is the symbol of Guilin. Climbing up the stairs from Shanxi, you can reach Xiangbei. There is Elephant Eye Rock on the mountain, with a pair of eyes that look like elephants facing each other on the left and right. From the right eye, you go down dozens of steps to the Antarctic Cave. The cave wall is engraved with the four characters "Antarctic Cave and Sky".
