Laozi, surnamed Li Ming'er, styled Boyang, was a thinker and philosopher in the late Spring and Autumn Period, and the founder of Taoism. He is the author of Laozi, also known as Tao Te Ching. Legend has it that I lived for more than 200 years as a result of cultivating Taoism to preserve my longevity.
